    Pros

    Paid well. Productive when orders come in.

    Cons

    Laid off frequently from lack of orders. Harrassment from employees and supervisors. No constant schedule.

    Advice to Management

    Get new management.

    Pros

    Have decent salary and benefits.

    Cons

    Senior VP likes to control everything. Extreme micro-manager. Needs to her off his high horse.

    Pros

    Paid weekly, manager in my department was awesome! Very laid back super nice.

    Cons

    Very old out dated machines alot of doing your own maintenance. Pay could be higher. Not much of a challenge.

    Get better more efficient equipment.

    Pros

    Family owned at the time I worked in one of their plants. Usually had weekends off even during busy times of the year. Tuition reimbursement offered and at the facility I worked there would have been plenty of time to go to school

    Cons

    Not a lot of business which made this a part time job. Management is incompetent and likes to have fall guys in place to protect their job. The real philosophy is to "keep your best workers underneath you" so a manager can make his or herself look better. Hiring a person with a degree does not make them a better candidate to manage an area vs someone with 10 years experience but the culture of Jeld-Wen says otherwise.

    Advice to Management

    Promote your best and get rid of all you incompetent finger pointing blame gaming so called senior managers.

    Pros

    I worked with good people. The benefits were ok, with certain ways to make them more affordable. Plenty to do at work each day.

    Cons

    Below industry average compensation. Little opportunity for promotion/salary increases. Inconsistent communication from management/department heads.

    Advice to Management

    There was a time when the small town/family type environment actually existed. Now it seems all of that is lost in the scramble to cut costs no matter what. The employees need to feel valued and that there work can actually help accomplish something.

    I really enjoyed watching the outcome of projects I was responsible for.

    Company not the same since changing hands.

    Spend some time thinking outside the box.

    Strong Products Strong sales team Previous management Long History Strong middle management Customer Focused Good employees Strong Marketing / Product Development

    Cons

    Company decides when or if to give bonuses. No control over own destiny. Company retirement held hostage as the company stock continues to decline. Current management has little concern for employees. ONEX has cleaned house destroying previous company values and culture Operationally driven company

    Advice to Management

    Management needs to take control of the company from investors to return the company back to the days when JELD-WEN's culture was driven by the "Golden Rule."

    Pros

    The future of the company is promising with the new executive leadership that has been brought in.

    Cons

    The company is made up of many past acquisitions, so there is still much streamlining that needs to be done. It will be bumpy next 2-3 years.
