    Pros

    - training & career advancement opportunities
    - hands on management and administration
    - competitive salary and benefits
    - other small, but important perks like parties, gatherings, coffee, etc.

    Cons

    - 401K takes a while to fully vest

    I have been working at JMA IT full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Company has pretty comparable policies compared to other companies I have recently worked for. Time off is a little stingy, but company is pretty flexible and has lots of paid holidays, so that makes up for the lack of vacation time. Pay is not great, but being a smaller company, they do have to pay their bills and run a business, so it's not fair to compare to a large company. The President is very involved in community.

    Cons

    It would be nice to see a larger presence from headquarters, but when needed they are responsive and quick. I have heard that management is transparent and doesn't get along to well, but that doesn't effect those outside of headquarters much. Also, don't hear much in regards to the company numbers and future happenings. The President doesn't seem too trustworthy from the few times he's surfaced for meetings.

    Bring a stronger presence to the outside work force and get along as it does affect the employees and bottom line.

    I have been working at JMA IT

    Pros

    Standard industry benefits and also compensation

    Cons

    Their HR team sucks. They do not understand issues and they is totally insensitive to employees. Recently fired person simply because she ask for more money and they did this one day before she going to India to attend brothers wedding. Blamed it on performance. Management totally absent, don't seem to care. Never seen or met the CEO or other top.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take care of your employees and at least show your face sometime! Do you know how yur team is treating employees?

    Great parties, though not a great company

    I have been working at JMA IT

    Pros

    This company has wonderful parties for the employees. They provide unlimited booze and lots of great food at events such as KC Royals, KC Chiefs, Sporting KC games, bowling alleys, strip clubs, ping pong tournaments, and lots of random happy hours in local drinking establishments around Kansas City. If you love to party, this is the place to work. Their favorite business partners lead the way in organizing and promoting these fun activities.

    Cons

    If you are not a partying type, the downside is significant. They play favorites among their employees, providing increased benefits such are more vacation and outsized salary increases to the favorites and do nothing for those outside the party crowd. They heavily favor those who are most enthusiastic to participate in the parties. Furthermore, the salary increases are paltry while IT market salaries typically increase at more than double the rate of the average JMA pay increase.

    Develop a more fair and objective way to distribute additional compensation among the staff.

    I have been working at JMA IT as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    They pay you bi-weekly, and that's all there is.

    Cons

    No communication. Even when you try to get in touch, you'd get response faster if you go to DMV. This employer is completely uninterested in you. If you need something then you better contact through the ranks of company you are working at since this employer will not offer even timely response to an e-mail. It's a poster child of a bad staffing company.

    I have been working at JMA IT full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    I have been working with JMA government team for about 6 months now, and it has been one of my favorite jobs.

    -The head of the government team is fantastic.. She is a very kind and generous woman who has peoples' best interest at heart and really takes care of her employees. She's an inspiration to all of us.
    -The team itself is very united, talented, hard working, and has each other's backs. It feels almost like a family.
    -The pay is very good!
    -There are additional benefits for employees like free yoga right in the office every week, and many times there's even nice snacks and lunches to share in.
    -The company is growing steadily and there is always challenging work to do.

    Cons

    I honestly don't see any cons to working here.. It's the ideal job, and I highly recommend it.

    I don't consider this a con, but there is a LOT of work to do each day so you never get bored, but this is not the kind of company for those who like to sit around and watch the clock til closing time!

    Keep up the great work! I hope to be working with your team for a long time to come.

    Pros

    JMA has some of the friendliest and most talented employees. It is a very relaxed, friendly, and often fun work environment. The management team is very supportive of employee growth and are very appreciative of hard work. Hard work is always recognized and rewarded. Experience has been nothing but positive.

    JMA is a minority-owned business and the diversity is an added benefit. Employees are some of the most talented people, and the work environment is friendly and low-key. Supervisors do not micromanage.

    Cons

    JMA has difficulty with company-wide, cross-divisional, and inter-divisional communication.

    Pros

    Outstanding management team. Very supportive of employee personal and professional growth. Honest, caring, reliable, competitive, client focused at all levels from contract management, service delivery and cost effective programs to save clients money. Employee performance is always rewarded!! Annual reviews and pay increases are common and often with all employes.
