Current Employee – been working at JMP Securities

Pros – Great learning platform, get to work with smart people, excellent hands on experience, given lots of responsibilities though I lacked in experience.

Cons – The hours can be difficult working 5AM to 3PM, and during earnings season the work load increases by a significant amount, but it's doable

Advice to Senior Management – No major advice needs to be given, the organization is great and I like working there. The people are awesome, and I look forward to the future.

Cons – low compensation vs peers
politics
management is knee jerk
think they know all
no consensus on important issues
little support on various issues from management eg: hiring of imprtant support staff
stuck in leagcy inudstries of housing, reits, finance
horrible compensation allocation policy for sales

Advice to Senior Management – give more transparency into compensation and have a good structure that you stick to. You are a small firm, stick to it and don't try to hire bulge bracket people
