Cons
Pushy/Overbearing Managers/ Micro-Management

No Self-Autonomy
Advice to Senior Management
In assessing ways to improve customer satisfaction, leadership should look beyond more than just ways to test and evaluate branch personnel, but also pay attention to the overall happiness and satisfaction of its own employees as well.
Pros
Great Compensation and chances to move up
Cons
No downside to working here unless you don't have hard work ethic
Advice to Senior Management
keep up with the great leadership
Pros
Good benefits, latest technology, exposure to offshore teams
Cons
People at VP level think they ARE God, ill-treat other employees, nagging and bullying is common. Open door policy is almost non existent, VPs don't encourage much communication with upper level management. In short, you will be stuck wherever you are at, unless you play the buddy game with them.
Advice to Senior Management
Management to re-evaluate the people at VP level, just because they have become VP- it shouldn't make them a permanent fixture, specifically in IT. There should be on going HR training for VPs on how to be professional with employees. Management should encourage anonymous feedback, and not just allow VPs to write whatever in quarterly/annual reviews.
Pros
Great benefits, including tuition assistance, vacation, stock options and bonus. Excellent and safe working conditions with many advancement opportunities across the nation.
Cons
Very competitive work environment that is high stress. Work life balance needs to improve as employees put in extra hours to meet high demands of management.
Advice to Senior Management
Flatten organization structure opening communication thus eliminating constraints put in by some middle managers who are more concerned with their kingdoms then the well being of the organization.
Pros
Good benefits at some point
Cons
Poor management, I went thru 5 managers in 5 years. Their commission structure has been lowered, I went from making 60k my first year to making 38k my 5th and last year. My branch went from having 5 bankers to having 11 bankers so obviously commission was harder to hit at goal but we were micro managed to hit even though economy is really bad and they keep hiring bankers. You are literally followed around my your manager the whole day. My manager would hide behind my cubicle to listen to what I spoke about with my customers.
Pros
Salary, bonus, benefits, prestige, casual attire.
Cons
Management incompetence, hypocrisy, and disconnection from the line businesses.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to the executive training you provide to promoted individuals. It stressed avoiding everything that the company actually did - constant reorganization, senior level disdain for employee contributions, managing to weaknesses instead of leveraging strengths. It's Alice in Wonderland, except it's no wonder the financial system crashed..
Pros
Premier financial company with very string senior management that inspires employees. Decent pay and benefits compared to other employers. Very large organization and lot of potential opportunities for employees to learn different areas of business.
Cons
Too large to be fairly managed. Different departments run like as if they are completely different companies. Policies and recognition to employees are implemented inconsistently across departments resulting in middle management abuse of powers.
Advice to Senior Management
Walk the talk. Make middle management accountable. Make sure right talent is rewarded.
Pros
Good people to work with
Great benefits
useful resources available(i.e. help desk for HR, IT, or products available)
Cons
Lack of competitive products
You're expected to sale largely on the Chase name vs a complete option for customers
no clear career path
Advice to Senior Management
Little more focus on product development
Give incentive for so supervisors actually want to make a decision
make more realistic policies.
Pros
Benefits and opportunity to advance if you kiss butt like most companies.
Cons
It's tough to move up without kissing butt; it sucks that your passion and ability alone does not get you advanced. Too much micro management and no respect for your abilities to shine. Too much unecessary coaching and role playing. Unprofessional working environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow your professional employees shine on their own. Back off the daily huddles, allow us to manage our book without forcing us to work the lobby, respect the customer and allow them to make their deposit without harassment or safe and simple scripting.
Pros
Paid incentives for cross sell opportunities
Cons
There seemed to be a stand up sit down routine.
