Advice to Senior Management
Smart individuals don't necessarily have people skills; stop making managing people a requirement for promotion
Pros
Lots to learn in his international behemoth.
Cons
So many employees, individual talent is diluted.
Pros
401k matching, pension, high exposure. Lots of employee discounts. A lot of vacation time. Plenty of technology to work from home.
Cons
High turnover/ layoffs but probably not as high as others lately. Bad reputation. Makes mistakes as a firm. Could use better consistency in flexible work arrangements.
Advice to Senior Management
Better align systems/ admin/ management functions /policies and procedures across the different lines of business. Be more responsible as a firm with policies that make sense but avoid red tape.
Pros
The training program for analysts at least is quite structured. The bank does a good job at fostering mobility.
Cons
The work environment at least in my division was too political for my taste. Hours were long and I felt that compensation at a junior level was not competitive given hours worked.
Pros
big company with opportunities, innovative, favor of mobility, supports work from home policy , training on the job, onsite educational courses
Cons
bureaucratic red tape to get things done, difficult to retain top talent, salary differences between areas of the bank
Advice to Senior Management
be competitive in financial community , retain top talent, offer competitive salaries,
Pros
JP is a very structured and large organization. You can enjoy by being a small fish in the big pond
Cons
lots of meetings
too many groups working in silo
too many re-organizations and changes
competitive inter ranking process makes teamwork near impossible
Advice to Senior Management
consistency in strategy and communicate across
need fairness in promotion
there is no need to have meetings all the time
Pros
Good pay/benefits, great brand name on resume if your from a smaller school (not an Ivy).
Cons
Legacy systems, old culture, needs revamped
Advice to Senior Management
Less micro-managing
