Pros
Good works are being recognized. Job mobility within the bank is good. Minority is given the same opportunity and treated fairly.
Cons
Projects are too rush most of the time. Working hours are long. There are too many administrative tasks to fulfill.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should allow employees to be more creative and innovative. Administrative tasks should be simplified. Management hierarchy should be flattened.
Pros
Amazing people, fast-paced working environment, opportunity for career advancement
Cons
Large organization, some senior people may not give you the time of day, sometimes difficult to move around the organization if you don't like the area you are currently in
Advice to Senior Management
Be more open to moving people around the organization based on their own interests, since having a passion for something is largely the key to success
Pros
Laid back
Flat strucure
Every one is very helpful and nice
There is definitely career advancement opportunities
Good work/life balance
Cons
Some managers are not fit to manage people
HR can sometimes be slow in responding
Not easy to transfer groups
Advice to Senior Management
There is no specific feedback I would give - senior management for the most part know what they are doing
Pros
the benifits are some of the best in the work place, the human resource department is good.the atmospher is nice.
Cons
long days and i would like more vacation time.some days the lunch breaks can be short.sometimes the atmosphere is hot
Pros
From my experience, JPMorgan has many intelligent employees who are good to work with. They also support mobility within the company. A big bank like JPM has some of the biggest technology challenges, so therefore also interesting technology work.
Cons
The huge size of the company can make people who aren't natural networkers not succeed as well as they might in a smaller place where their work is easier to recognize. Also, the performance review and inter-ranking process is very tough as a manager, and can be unfair in some cases.
Advice to Senior Management
JPMorgan should seriously consider revamping the performance review process, to make it less subjective and reliant on abilities of your own manager to present your case in an impactful way.
Pros
Great Mobility
Great Office Locations
Technology Teams
Cons
Too many merger integration
Too many systems that do the same thing
Advice to Senior Management
Try to cut bureaucracy
Pros
great hours
great cafeteria
very hardworking people
able to consult with boss when needed
able to move within company once inside
Cons
it is a very, very big company. I had a qualm and contacted someone about it... this went to 3 other people before it got back to me.
Advice to Senior Management
great job
Pros
Cool name on your resume
Cons
The most stressful job I've ever had. I literally had nightmares and couldn't sleep at night because of the amount of sales you have to produce and close per month. You have to push clients to sign up for products they don't want and don't even need! You have to stop them in the lobby and force them to sit down at your desk. And who cares if they only came in to make a quick deposit? Who cares if they are on their lunch break? Who cares if they already have 10 Chase credit cards, an auto loan, a mortgage loan, an insurance, checking and savings and a business account! Sign them up for more stuff! You have to drill them with a robatic 1-2-3 drill that Chase created (watch 1 2 3 drill on youtube). And if you don't produce and your numbers are low, guess what, you'll be fired in no time! It's better to wash floors and clean toilets than to work for a disguisting bank like Chase. Shame on this bank! Stay away from this torture!
Advice to Senior Management
grow up and leave your bankers alone. Stop using this stupid 123 drill and stop pushing customers to sign up for stuff they don't need. You guys need to change your entire employee policy and procedures or else you will end up loosing fantastic bankers due to your ignorant rules.
Pros
Many opportunities to grow and advance career
Cons
Too much bureaucracy, things move slowly, lots of internal meetings
Pros
Many of the employees who work there are friendly and interested in helping you develop as an employee. The benefits and reward perks for employees are great.
Cons
Many within the management tier were promoted due to popularity and performance not on skills and ethics, which made working for these managers very challenging. Ethics and company protocol say one thing and the managers say another.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus not only in promoting not only those individuals who perform at sales but those who show natural leadership qualities that other employees would be willing and eager to follow and perform for.
