Former Employee – worked at JRK Property Holdings full-time for less than a year
Pros – Daily workload is not stressful.
Pay is adequate but not anything special.
Cons – Company policy - not communicated well and sometimes there is no policy for something that needs it.
There is no training or encouragement to improve your knowledge and skills.
No incentives at all for this position or for maintenance in general.
When you give them notice, make sure you have a job to go to. They will terminate you earlier than your last day.
The health insurance plan is too expensive - not only for what it offers but for my pay grade.
Advice to Senior Management – Overall, stop making employees feel like they are nothing more than assets to be used by the company for the sake of profits. Give them some real training, encourage their development, offer incentives that will motivate an employee and make them feel appreciated, offer multiple plans for health insurance or greatly reduce the monthly premium.

Former Employee – worked at JRK Property Holdings full-time for more than a year
Pros – Willing to take a chance to introduce someone new to the industry. Opportunity to advance with company (but that's because they can't keep employees).
Cons – Low pay, lowest commissions in the industry, under staffed in every aspect, high employee turn over rate, no training program, awful corporate office and upper management staff. Assets lie to the owner all the time, and they will treat you like dirt. Company is all about conversion rates, reports, and money, when they should be all about their employees and residents putting money in their pockets.
Advice to Senior Management – Lower your unrealistic expectations. Treat employees like they're people and pay them what they're worth. Focus more on taking care of your residents instead of caring about the bottom dollar. If you take care of your employees, they'll take care of your residents. Upper management sets the tone, so if you don't like what is going on in the office you're at, look in the mirror. It's you making creating the negativity. Stop making people the 'JRK Way' and take them as they are. Pay people what they're worth, and raise your commissions.

Former Employee – worked at JRK Property Holdings full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Wonderful co-workers, residents and vendors
Cons – Pay, benefits, training, upper management, HR, chain of command, support of staff
Advice to Senior Management – Treat employees with respect and actually listen to what they have to say. Pay people what they are worth and maybe they will stay with you long term. Stop assuming that just because someone either quit or was let go, that they are making things up when they tell you something about another employee. Support the property manager. Stop screwing residents out of their deposits. Care more about your residents and less about your bottom line. Pay vendors on time and treat them as wonderfully as they treat you. Don't threaten your employees after they leave your employ.

Former Employee – worked at JRK Property Holdings full-time for more than a year
Pros – I met some of the most amazing co-workers at JRK properties. I loved working with the tenants.
Cons – The pay is an embarrassment. The commissions are terrible. The turnover is horrendous. There is no training (except a few computer "webinars") to speak of. Praise NEVER given, all feedback is negative.
Advice to Senior Management – Get your sh*t together. You had some amazing employees and lost them because you have no idea what you're doing.

Current Employee – been working at JRK Property Holdings full-time
Pros – Met some great people working within the company. JRK is always willing to take a risk on someone to introduce them to the industry.
Cons – Commissions are the lowest in the industry. Hourly pay is the lowest in the industry. Housing allowance is unfavorable. JRK has a horrible reputation in the housing industry.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees as actual people. Don't continue to run the dictatorship you run. Avoid employee turn over by paying competitive wages.

Current Employee – been working at JRK Property Holdings full-time for more than a year
Pros – JRK pays slighter higher than the average in the industry to make up for its terrible reputation in the industry
Cons – The executive management, the hours, lack of organization and direction, no upward mobility, treating employees like children, micromanaging, 90% turnover rate, no job stability, no employee advocate (the HR department is for show only)
Advice to Senior Management – Value your employees and recognize the work that they do. Stop the revolving door of employees and minimize the weekly terminations. Implement training programs. Hire upper management that knows how to manage and understands the ins and out of the company. Have an HR department or employee advocate that is not just a puppet of upper management. This company and the executives have a terrible reputation in the industry - look on any website - and now it's understandable. If you value work life balance, if you don't want to be yelled at like a bad dog, do not work here. Starbucks is a better option. Really.
