I have been working at JSW Steel USA part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Everyone was treated equally, with a possibility of growing up in you career. Caring and self motivation was my successful system in this environment. I proved to do my best and accomplish everything i put my self to do.

    Cons

Managing and communication is the biggest issue in any business. I truly believe that if anybody dosent have the skills that it takes to be in a position assigned to, just say it. Ensure you get the scoop of what you getting into, before you jump into conclusions.

    Advice to Management

*Evaluation: of employees is the best key to know where everyone stands. *Communication: skills is a must have to notify all employees of any last minute changes. *Organizations: including supervisors and all employees is the excellence of any business.

    Pros

Hours- if you like working 30+ days in a row 12 hours a day including holidays. Maybe have Sunday's off but never know

    Cons

There are literally roaches (small disease carrying ones) rats and raccoons wondering around and in break rooms

    Advice to Management

Please stop living in class system-keeping the poor poor, n the rich rich. Won't even make eye contact, treat employees like roaches that are in breakrooms

I worked at JSW Steel USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The management for JSW Steel strove to present a quality product (plates and pipes). Workers were given plenty of opportunity to work overtime and pay was better than average ($13.00 per hour and up generally). I was hired and given a diversity of experiences in the plate mill.

    Cons

Overall, the biggest concern was how people treated each other. In this intensely competitive business, there was no room for treating co-workers nicely, it seemed. If something went wrong voices went from 0 decimals to 200,000 in a second.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice if better ways could be used to manage issues in the company when managers feel a person needs to change a practice or habit. Yelling really gets you nowhere. All it serves to do is undermine the individual and make him or her hate working for the company. Quality products require quality employees who give the best. The way to get that best is to cultivate it.

    Pros

Get worked to death, so you get a great deal of experience without any other compensation whether monetary or moral.

    Cons

Inadequate compensation and benefits. No growth potential. Everyone's philosophy of 'i' (no team work). High safety risk.

    Advice to Management

This place would be better off if shut down so people would not fall into false hopes of getting some places better in life by working here.
