I have been working at Jacada

Really seems like a start up with an established company. Management is willing to hear ideas to improve and I believe the current leadership is taking the company in the right direction.

Its an exciting place to work with lots of opportunity

    Cons

don't know where we will be in 3 years, but challenges provide opportunity!

I have been working at Jacada

    Pros

Small size company with opportunity to learn or work across departments/roles

    Cons

Too many changes in senior management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fluctuations of the economy and stock price cannot be the guiding line for running a company this size.

    I worked at Jacada

    Pros

stock options, decent people to work with, great place to be a consultant if you like to travel, benefits are good, but not the greatest. Company has money in the bank

    Cons

Senior Management has no clue on how to run a profitable organization. Past CEO thought that walking around and yelling at people was considered motivation. He was a sales guy that should have stayed with sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop freely spending the money on items like paper flags to cover the walls. Use it for something important like good marketing efforts and consultant training.

I have been working at Jacada

    Pros

Jacada has a lot of smart people, and great technology. Under the correct circumstances, Jacada could become the dominant force in automation techologies.

    Cons

Over the past few years, a lot of the perks of working for Jacada were slowly taken away to help out the company's bottom line. This was spear-headed by Paul O'Callaghan, the company's previous CEO. He turned Jacada from a warm, inviting, fun, small company to a cold, desolate corporate wasteland.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Jacada's management should make Jacada a fun place to work again, and focus on creating new opportunites for current employees. As it is, there's little to no room for growth within the organization,

I worked at Jacada full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Intentions are good, a lot of brain power available, the products are really super and it could be a great place to work...BUT...

    Cons

Too many cooks in the kitchen, no trust, poor HR organization, poor communication with employees, no training or introduction of products or co workers to new employees, inefficent & heavy company procedures, not willing to change even though it could be for the better. ALL customers good or bad, are treated with velvet gloves. You get the impression, Jacada is afraid of standing up to a customer where needed - why, lack of product confidence?!? Last but not least ; not impressed with the top managers way of running a global company (+ a lot of capital in the reserve) with many different cultures.. & clearly Jacada never dealt with "ethics in corporate governance".. you are just a number....even though you hear this word "the Jacada family" all the time!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop eating out of the customers hands......there must be a limit....
Start trusting the (executive) managers you hire, be OPEN and HONEST with them, let them use their qualifications to do their job. And start keeping your promises!!

    Cons

Little room for advancement. Not much communication from management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on a succession plan for employees to show career path options

I have been working at Jacada

    Pros

Autonomy to get the job done, cool technologies, some really talented people, lack of structure, good work/life balance. Great place to build up your work skills.

    Cons

Tendency to treat every employee like a short term resource. Frequent changes in management can alienate employees, some changes are more successful than others. Recognition is in short supply. Management not really open to hearing about issues facing employees or customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Always keep in mind that customers and employees are your greatest assets and work accordingly. Consider more promotions within versus hiring external resources.
