    Pros

Software is very easy to follow. Have great prices and fairly flexible hours

    Cons

Pay is low. Working in a Walmart Kiosk wasn't fun. Sometimes had to buy my own office supplies.

    Pros

You got to do your own taxes for free.

    Cons

It was mind numbingly boring. It was awkward when people would blatantly try to cheat on their taxes.

I worked at Jackson Hewitt part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fun place to work. You will learn a lot about taxes and get paid to do it. It's a great job for some cash to help after the holidays.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement. This is a seasonal job so you will be employed a short time. Slow days in march can get boring at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Doing a great job. Not much I would change. We all have a great time and do our jobs at the same time. I would tell anyone interested to work there.

    I worked at Jackson Hewitt

    Pros

You are the go to person that people trust a respect. Being able to educate someone regarding the laws and procedures of the internal revenue service is exciting because you are educating yourself at the same time.

    Cons

The pay is not impressive and it does not compare to the work and patience required.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider the work your employees are doing and compensate them accordingly.

    Pros

Flexible with hours, plenty of support, helping people with their tax questions and filing, coworkers were all great and super helpful.

    Cons

Can be really slow at times, management a bit disorganized, if you work at a retail location, occasionally you will get grief from employees at those locations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Very nice and helpful people overall, try and run things a little more smoothly!

I worked at Jackson Hewitt full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The education was actually pretty decent. Good tech support when you have issues with the tax software.

    Cons

I worked in a Walmart kiosk - very noisy environment. I was frustrated by the difficulty clients encountered when trying to contact the actual preparer of their return. They had to call the main number and then try to get transferred to my location. Had a couple instances where my boss didn't respond to issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really think it would be best if you had an experienced preparer (more than one or two seasons) review all returns before they are submitted for filing. The hold feature should be used on all returns. Getting and saving client signatures is great, but returns should be reviewed.
