I have been working at Jacobsen full-time

    Pros

Great company president who gets to know employees and sets a clear and simple strategy. Good leaders across every function. Lots of opportunities for growth, promotion and development. Work life balance is better than a lot of places.

    Cons

Smallest Textron company - not as many opportunities for promotion unless you're willing to relocate or move cross-functionally.

I have been working at Jacobsen full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good equipment and great customers. Customers are very loyal!

    Cons

Timing is everything while quality comes last. Lower level workers try to do the right thing but due to turnover and loss of experience in upper management, product design/build suffers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a director of engineering that actually has some mechanical experience and replace what's there. Quality should be your top priority! Dates should come secondary to customer satisfaction.

Jacobsen manufactures of high-end turf maintenance equipment. Products range from fairway and greens mowers to wide-area mowers and utility vehicles. The product offering is vast and the experience one receives is relatively diversified.

    Cons

Although growth opportunities in certain roles happen, moving up the ladder is somewhat limited since the number of leadership positions are limited.
