I have been working at Jaguar Cars full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

After almost fifteen years of working for Jaguar at various dealerships, I have to say they are both an increasingly evolving brand as well as beautiful inside and out. I would never sell anything I didn't believe in and although the Jaguar brand has had a sketchy past, the current products are amazing. With limited production numbers, you are almost assured your neighbor will not have the same car! Can't say that for Mercedes or other brands...

    Cons

Sales management come and go like a bad habit and so do relationships. Working hours are long and if your not working you don't make any money! When dealing with high line vehicles try NOT to be a car salesman and be a lesion between your customer and their new level of status. Don't be a snob or act like your better than your client because you are not!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think more long term in place of the immediate sale, my manager was a high volume Ford dealer and was very much not a team player. Care more about your reputation and employees than one sale and finally, always be polite! I have worked with many people and had many customers that still call my private number to this day, but will not go to my local dealer because of one lazy person.

    I worked at Jaguar Cars

    Pros

Jaguar used to be filled by consummate professionals passionate about the company and it's history with most folks trying to do right by the brand. They had very fair work-life balance with flexible hours and remote working options. Technology improved over the course of my tenure with Ford eventually instituting a PC renewal program ensuring employees had some of the basic tools they needed to do their job.

    Cons

Due to poor management decisions that neglected product investment, many folks ended up leaving for greener pastures. Things are quite different at Jaguar NA now, with the CA office having been shuttered and the majority of the NA staff eviscerated. However, with great product now leading the way, it looks like the company is back on the right track.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen. Listen to the employees. Get their feedback often and begin to look for patterns. Put action items in place and check back on the pulse of the employee base.

I worked at Jaguar Cars as a contractor (more than 10 years)

    Pros

They care about you as well as trying to make you aware of your responsibilities to them. They want you to move forward with them.

    Cons

Organisational changes, changes of ownership, understanding the culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the little people are the one's who can help you to achieve your goals. Make sure you acknowledge them personally, whenever you can. Recognition can be more important than simple financial rewards, which should follow anyway.

I have been working at Jaguar Cars

    Pros

Good work-life balance initiative called 'Your time'
Range of discounts on vehicles are ok if you can afford them in the first place
Working for a well known, highly regarding brand

    Cons

Some managers are completely incompetent; however there is emphasis on the word 'some'.
It is difficult to progress within the company as not all managers follow the personal development process and in some cases unfairly try to keep you in their team when you do try to move on.
Lack of feedback from directors/senior management is terrible; during the recession, we were learn more about the company from the local press than we would from our own leadership
Certain elements of the company have not moved on since the 1970s/early 80s; there does not appear to be much respect for the general workforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep workers informed, before releasing statements to the press
Get rid of the 'dead wood' managers who won't adopt new management styles or techniques - they are stiffling the engineers and make some (including me) leave the company through sheer frustration with the decisions (or lack of decisions being made)
