Pros
a very good work experience and a fun environment to be in! great for a first job, or a job in general!
Cons
sometimes it isnt as busy so the hours may not be great, or if you arent able to remember the drinks
Advice to Senior Management
they were great! very friendly and they always were looking out for not only the customers best inerest, but ours too
Pros
Flexible hours. Great management staff.
Cons
Level of maturity of most employees is low.
Pros
50% off of smoothies
Our store was cohesive and did stuff together outside of work like hang out, go to concerts, watch movies, chill on the beach, etc.
Fun environment
Cons
Not much room for growth
Low pay
Rare pay raises
Arms smell like oranges at the end of the day
Crazy sometimes in the summer
Pros
Benefits include 50% off smoothies and optional health insurance, which is better than many employers.
Cons
Worked for over one year and received only a 10 cent raise. My manager couldn't complete a sentence for his life. The work is very monotonous. When I was diagnosed with mono, my manager actually made me bring in a doctor's note to prove I wasn't faking it. When most people have mono, they can hardly get up! Management does not care about employees--to them, you're just a replaceable minimum wage worker.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees better. Stop trying to be part of the "cool" clique.
Pros
Great Managers and coworkers
Fun and Fast Paced
Never bored at work
Healthy foods for lunch
50% discount
You can feel good promoting healthy product to people
Cons
Not very competitive salary
Team members don't tend to get many hours
Generally high turnover rate
Labor % is nearly impossible to hit
Pros
Free smoothies, cool employees (mostly kids aged 16-21), in my case I had a cool manager, a lot of freedom, a lot of fun, and probably one of the best jobs I will ever have. So many good times here, my co workers ended up being friends, we had fun on the job, there was never a dull moment, fast paced environment, fun getting to know the regulars, fun creating smoothies, once again... FREE SMOOTHIES. The uniform was tolerable. One color shorts or jeans, white polo, apron, hat, nametag. The hats suck and fit awkwardly, but everything else is fine. There's room for advancement, you go from Team Member, to Team Leader usually within a year or so, if you show effort. Took me 2 months.
I worked at a Jamba Juice for almost 2 years, I can absolutely say that you should get a job here. It's fun, not too difficult, all your friends will love you, it's a cool job, and you get free smoothies.
Cons
-Dishes are annoying, but its not too difficult to wash blenders. What sucked was cleaning the juicing machines at night. I can clean the carrot machine in 5 minutes, but the orange machine takes a while. Cleaning oatmeal is the worst though.
-Closing the store. You get scheduled to get off 45 minutes after the store closes, but you can't leave until everything's done. I've gotten out 4 minutes after close, and I've gotten out almost 3 hours after close, depends how good you are.
-As easy as working here can be after you master it, you really don't get paid well enough for what you are doing. TMs get 7.25, and Team Leaders get 8. There is a lot you have to do, but it's worth it. I always liked to think that all the free smoothies I was drinking made up for the crappy pay.
-No raises. I got my default raise when I got promoted to Team Leader, but worked for a year and a half after that with no raise.
Advice to Senior Management
Give employees raises.
Pros
Best Smoothies anywhere!! Decent uniforms. Easy job to learn. Peers are very helpful if you are bondedwith them. Great job if ou want to learn how to and not run a business.
Cons
Management has no balance what so ever. Have to promote outside sales with no training. Everything is always an emergency. The pay of the team members is poor so its difficult to find good help. Raises are on the low side.
Advice to Senior Management
Jamba should teach outside sales in better training if there is so much pressure put on it. Also you should employee an outside sales management team like Specialty's Cafe & Bakery do. I believe GMs should be in their four walls. Only a handful can actually sell outside sells and do it well. Not everyone is a salesperson. It was a better company when we did one thing, make smoothies and do it right, the company has taken a simple concept and made it difficult. No matter what or how you say it, its a seasonal bussiness. Stop wasting money trying to make it something it is not.
Pros
Fun co-workers and environment. Sometimes customers can be a bit rude but this is a good start in terms of working part-time for high school students. You learn about customer service.
Cons
Not an ideal place to continue one's career but promotions are possible.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Health Benefits.
Flexibility with hours.
Nice work environment.
The more hours you work the more likely you will be promoted.
Cons
Repetitive work, nothing new or interesting.
Minimum wage, or close to minimum wage.
No room for growth to be promoted or non at all.
Advice to Senior Management
Should focus on more advertising.
Punch cards (ex. After 5 drinks get sixth free)
Recipes show up on computer for all drinks. Including old ones.
Pros
WAS a fun, active and healthy life style corporate culture. Whimsical and playful brand strategy. Dynamic marketing group with a healthy budget***
Cons
***A healthy budget that was squandered on poor cost negotiations: POP, Outside Marketing Firms, Branding Agencies... we had powerful and talented in-house teams. So why blow our salaries on bloated costs from outside consultants yet continue to hire internal personnel? Result: Jamba imploded due to its over leveraged position and economic down turn. The company eliminated or replaced 40% of its workforce in Arch Services, Marketing & Brand Dev and Real-Estate.
Advice to Senior Management
Company needs to play it closer to the vest and be more spend thrift.... My shares (purchased at 8 haven't broken 2.40 in over a year. Lets hope they play "round-4" with nestle a little more wisely and get that stock out of the toilet.
