    I worked at Janalakshmi Financial Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company is good and growing like anything, good for number chasers and target lovers. Motto of company is good which is helping lots of people.

    Cons

    Lots of work as compared to heads. no time to go home, late night work every day. 12 to 14 hrs of working hrs everyday. Less salary as compared to responsibilities. No holidays, no sundays or weekends to relax. ground staff is totally irresponsible and lethargic. For the management Only numbers matter. False commitment from management regarding staff benefits.

    Advice to Management

    Go to the branches and see how staff is working till late nights always. Do not chase only numbers plz take care of staff also. Apply micro management to track staff.

    Pros

    The finance team was very small, just my manager and me, so the responsibilities were varied and provided many learning opportunities - technical skills, first hand learning about NBFCs in India, challenges in providing financial services to the low income population in India

    Cons

    The work culture was more rigid than I was used to

    Poor HR practices like using transfers as a tool to force employees exit

    Adopt best HR policy & practice in the industry as retaining and nurturing talent always pays off

    good place for a year or 2 to learn about social enterprise market environment

    poorly managed HR processes, highly bureaucratic, pathetic growth plans, poor remuneration

    shut it down instead of luring youngsters to sweat it out for the old men who are extremely slow at decision-making and are totally out of touch with ground reality
