Interviewee Beware; Operations in The USA Differs Vastly from The Global

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Teaneck, NJ

ProsMaybe, The Potential to travel abroad...that's questionable too.

ConsThe salary is on the lower end for the industry.

Tobacco is a tough market and if you don't already have a solid market share it's even tougher (JT has a <1% MS in the USA).

Do your research and ask questions; don't be sold on the global stature of JT (3rd largest tobacco company globally...etc) ask about the USA, they're not selling Camels here...they're selling Wings (what's that?! My point exactly).

I thought the benefits were sub-par; United Health for medical and Aetna for dental, the issue is not the providers, but the plans JT selected.

If you're not (or can't be) passionate about tobacco look away.

Overall, I thought the work environment was toxic. Most people want to leave, but they're complaisant. Annually there's a rotation of about 6 -10 employes in an office of 50...that's BAD!

Advice to Senior ManagementStart to take notice of employee moral. The European way rarely works with the US workforce.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Internship

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Saint Petersburg (Russia)

ProsVery good working conditions. You are given everything you need to do your job in terms of tools and equipment. The food is very good and affordable on the factory. Safety is their main concern, so it is very safe.

ConsNot much work to do for internships. Most processes on the factory are established already. Not many cons, they obviously depend on what you are looking to do and what are your expectations.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Geneva (Switzerland)

ProsA good company to work for. Environment is vibrant and you never find yourself bored. All the policies seem to be created by people for people. By this I mean you know there are always the right tools in place to rely on.

ConsThe information exchange in the company could be better.

    Nottingham much to look forward.

ProsSalary & benefit are much better than other FMCG.

ConsNot much progression in terms of skill. Result/performances of individual basically are based on teamwork. Can't show individual ability but to follow the herd.
