I have been working at Jarden full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, great brands, great perks! There are a lot of training opportunities, but you must be a self-starter and take ownership of your development.

    Cons

A lot o employees with low morale, people feel undervalued. There is a perception that the wrong people are developed, talented individuals feel unrecognized and unappreciated by managers/directors.

    Advice to Management

More leadership is desperately needed. There is no clear growth and development path. Talented people will leave if changes are not made soon.

    Pros

Some nice people. Most projects are given ample time to do job well. Boca is a nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there. The rich get richer.

    Cons

Some power women in high places that were not nice and didn't like other women. Favoritism was rampant, very clicky. If you weren't liked, you were out.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of dead weight and listen to new ideas. Don't get rid of people that have experience and new ideas.

I worked at Jarden (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work was fun and challenging, there was always at least a couple projects in the works. The people were also great to work with, they were always willing to help out or answer any questions.

    Cons

I enjoy being busy, but Jarden does tend to run lean. There were more than a few times that a project could and should have been completed at a higher standard, but due to the lean nature of the organization it didn't always happen.

    Advice to Management

Keep taking care of the employees. Having a manager that appreciated all I was doing made the lean nature of the organization easier to deal with.

    Cons

Some of the leads wasn't fair to some of the workers, they pushed the new hires to much,to where they quit.

I worked at Jarden (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The team was great, my supervisor was supportive and dedicated. I learned a great amount in this position .

    Cons

You were not allowed to grow from your position because if you were trained they would have to pay you more. Very much like highschool ..each department stayed within their group.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and step away from your egos, if you want success start asking the the right people who know the consumer before anything else. Poor foundation makes a weak company. It is a shame because potential is there if they fired the family unit that caused the issues these past 9 years.

    Pros

Excellent pay and run of the mill or average benefits. Decent vacation time given when starting out to work there.

    Cons

Horrific family work life balance. Expect 84 hour work weeks. Communication between floor management and upper management is really bad.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to what the floor supervisors are doing. Keep time off work even. (I was paired with a supervisor on 2nd shift that misses work constantly and from what I hear, she still does. My days off ended up being her days off instead. I worked 100 extra days last year.
