Former Employee – worked at Jennison Associates
Pros – The culture at Jennison is very supportive and trusting; they'll only hire those they know can work independently so there's little micromanaging. Many employees have been there for 5+ years. Also, the benefits are top notch. Great work/life balance.
Cons – For those in a non-investment role, moving up can be a real challenge. Most people end up being in the same role for many, many years, which can sometimes lead to low employee morale. Management with last-minute projects and client 'fire drills' can be a challenge.
Advice to Senior Management – Find ways for employees to gain exposure to new responsibilities and departments; create a more strategic approach when dealing with last-minute projects

Current Employee – been working at Jennison Associates
Pros – Friendly culture, amazing benefits, many long service people who really care about the firm, low turnover and you get the feeling management really cares about the people.
Cons – The firm has experienced significant growth and the culture has changed from a more laid back environment to one with a more intense, busy pace.

Current Employee – been working at Jennison Associates
Pros – Some people are very knowledgeable about the industry and are great to work with because they are wiling to share their knowledge. However, you need to be proactive. People don't readily share information.
Cons – High turnover and senior management's view that new blood is good for the business. Does not develop people once you're in. There are dead weights who are there to just collect a paycheck and has no growth potential which impedes the growth of the group and ultimately the firm.
Advice to Senior Management – Recognize those with talent and can be groomed for internal growth. High turnover in any group should be sign to senior management that the person in charge may not be the right person leading the group. Stability and growth cannot be achieved when there is high turnover and lack of recognition to those that can help firm achieve its goals.

Former Employee – worked at Jennison Associates
Pros – benefits, free drinks, holiday party, can usually leave by 6-6:30pm, not much else
Cons – no career growth
stupid people promoted if favorites
investment professionals higher class citizens
who you know more important than what you know/if youre good at your job
lots of turnover
Advice to Senior Management – career growth is key. dont take away from benefits or free drinks. only thing you have going once someone is mid-career. give people opportunities to interact with management more, and not just favorites.

Current Employee – been working at Jennison Associates
Pros – great benefits
free drinks
a lot of people have been there along time
good holiday party
nice office
Cons – no career advancement; people have been there for so long, you get stuck because your manager hasn't left
pay must be good at the top (why else would people stay), but not good on bottom/once you're stuck
management doesn't know what they are doing- the more they meet with hr, the worse they seem
a lot of turnover in certain groups
Advice to Senior Management – find ways to reward people-- more responsibility/more money/money something
be wary of how managers treat other employees. they don't know what they are doing and hr doesn't seem to help
