    Pros

    Bonus
    Profit sharing
    Culture
    Company really looks after employees

    Cons

Management overlooks managers inability to manage and focuses only on results. Results are important but when turn over is egregious and a blind eye is turned it results in the ability to retain talent.

    Pros

Great benefits, wonderful "Non Sr. Management" colleagues to work with, great profit sharing. CEO Is a very intelligent person and will skillfully lead the firm.

    Cons

New Sr. Mgmt brought a ton of politics and their untalented friends to devastate a once terrific environment to work in. It used to be a place that you enjoyed to come in to work and you were proud to be there and wanted the firm to do well. Moral is low, motivation is low and politics rule this place of work.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and ears, the new policies and regime is not working. You've lost a good number of skilled and devoted workers, and will lose more from what I've heard, if you don't rid the place of the politics.

    Pros

Great Benefits Great Healthcare Great 401k bonus contribution

    Cons

If you aren't an IP (Investment Professional) you are not treated the same way and if you aren't currently an IP you are never going to be an IP so don't even think about it.

    Advice to Management

Need more room for advancement for Non IPs

    Pros

Awesome benefits, great people and opportunity is there if you perform and make an effort

    Cons

Roles are becoming too specialized and redundant which doesnt allow for much outerdepartment exposure, leadership doesnt seem accountable for errors and promotion criteria is somewhat questionable

    Advice to Management

Remove the cancers quickly and if there are hiring mistakes act promptly. The culture depends on everyone having faith leadership. Once that erodes, its a domino effect.

    Pros

nice people, small company, good company culture, good location, good benefits, 9-5 work schedule amkes for a low stress job

    Cons

management does not show concern for employees, lack of career advancement- they only hire from outside for management/VP level postions

    Advice to Management

show some concern for the people that work for you- make them feel included and involved in some of the decision making for their work

  9. Helpful (1)

Solid company with great culture; lack of upward mobility for non-investment personnel

    I worked at Jennison Associates

    Pros

The culture at Jennison is very supportive and trusting; they'll only hire those they know can work independently so there's little micromanaging. Many employees have been there for 5+ years. Also, the benefits are top notch. Great work/life balance.

    Cons

For those in a non-investment role, moving up can be a real challenge. Most people end up being in the same role for many, many years, which can sometimes lead to low employee morale. Management with last-minute projects and client 'fire drills' can be a challenge.

    Advice to Management

Find ways for employees to gain exposure to new responsibilities and departments; create a more strategic approach when dealing with last-minute projects

    Pros

Friendly culture, amazing benefits, many long service people who really care about the firm, low turnover and you get the feeling management really cares about the people.

    Cons

The firm has experienced significant growth and the culture has changed from a more laid back environment to one with a more intense, busy pace.

    Pros

Some people are very knowledgeable about the industry and are great to work with because they are wiling to share their knowledge. However, you need to be proactive. People don't readily share information.

    Cons

High turnover and senior management's view that new blood is good for the business. Does not develop people once you're in. There are dead weights who are there to just collect a paycheck and has no growth potential which impedes the growth of the group and ultimately the firm.

    Advice to Management

Recognize those with talent and can be groomed for internal growth. High turnover in any group should be sign to senior management that the person in charge may not be the right person leading the group. Stability and growth cannot be achieved when there is high turnover and lack of recognition to those that can help firm achieve its goals.
