I worked at Jersey City Medical Center

    Pros

Excellent opportunity to build your diagnostic skills and get exposure to a broad range of mental health issues and populations. A good learning opportunity working with interdisciplinary treatment providers. Pretty good starting salary and flexible hours. There is opportunities to move into others positions within the hospital.

    Cons

There is very little one on one time with senior staff to process cases. Senior staff initiates policy based on outlying incidences just to cover themselves. This just creates menial tasks for an already fast paced sometimes hectic environment. The ability to move up within the screening center is limited. Income becomes stagnant as there is only cost of living increases in salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Provide more feedback on cases.

I worked at Jersey City Medical Center full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Flexable hours lots of overtime

    Cons

No union Dangerous job the jcmc had to get a Jersey Police officer to work in the ER just to help control unruly crowds and gang members and help close the place down when traumas and happen and the police officer get disrespected so picture what happens to regular security guards. And there's also a behavioral health which sometimes has criminals there Security is ran by napoleon complex supervisor who's been working there since he was a teen there is no union so people get fired at a drop of a dime

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You guys need to clean house you can't have workers and supervisor come to work with hangovers and expect to be taken seriously

I have been working at Jersey City Medical Center

    Pros

Great to work in a fast paced system and see a lot of patients. It had its great days and bad days. You will see everything and anything there

    Cons

You will be very busy when working for JCMC. There is no sitting around for hours at a time. Reporting system needs works.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reporting system when there is an issue there should be a careful curtious way to attend to the issue. I find that the employee is not always heard.
