Pros
travel benefits, some movement within company
Cons
not enough feedback for employees applying for jobs internally
Advice to Senior Management
Would like non-anonymous suggestion email box
Pros
Flying on stand by
Alot of free time in between flights
Good workout
Cons
Bad breathing environment
Unfair work conditions
Incompetent Managers
Coworkers that don't take their job seriously
Advice to Senior Management
I would say to take more recognition when someone does a good job and to pay more for mandatory stay due to weather conditions. I also feel that there should be more organization and Jetblue should enforce strict consequences when employees don't show up for your flight when it comes in and you are a short two guys pulling in a plane is extra work on everyone else that actually came to work.
Pros
Awesome benefits. You pay nothing for Jetblue flights and after 6 month you get access to all the other companies.
Cons
Very strict time management since you work from home.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more understading
Pros
The staff is awesome and the flight benefits are great . I enjoy traveling and giving people the best traveling experience.
Cons
The hours are a little unpredictable and the pay could be better. It's not really a place for single parents.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work. Spend more time with the little people. The little people make the big person big.
Pros
Our values. Safety, integrity, passion, caring and fun. Jetblue lives by them and so do we the crew members. I love the flexibility and the commitment from top management to create a healthy and pleasant work environment. They value our opinion and do their best to make us feel that we are a big contributor to our success. I am looking forward to staying with jetblue til I retire.
Cons
Expanding too fast, but the last couple of year this has been under control. There is really not many cons. The positive out weights the negative by a mile.
Advice to Senior Management
Start looking to fly over seas. Get bigger airplanes, but stay focus. I would like to see us fly all over the world and share the jetblue experience throughout. I belive that at some point we're going to have to do it just to be able to compete.
Pros
Intelligent, passionate and energetic people. Mgmt has done a good job of cultivating an innovative culture. Great brand with great ideas, and an exciting place to be.
Cons
Politics get in the way of putting the best work forward. Rapid growth means that integral systems and processes are not in place. This is a good challenge, though.
Advice to Senior Management
Grow leaders who will advocate for what's best for the company and their people. The politics sometimes get in way of good work being done.
Pros
People were great to work with and just about everyone loved their work and the company
Opportunity
Compensation
Cons
Minimal work/life balance
Work location is difficult to get to and I did not like the quality of life in New York
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to keep close to your employees and listen. From a business standpoint, it was a good decision to stay in New York.
Pros
The culture and the people
Cons
I wonder about how some Directors were chosen
Advice to Senior Management
I have no advice for the Senior/Executive Leadership. They're doing a great job!
Pros
Great benefits, (insurance, free flights for you and family, 401k, 100 percent matching up to 8 percent of pay),
Better pay than other airlines,
Being a flight attendant is pretty cool,
Job security (they don't do layoffs, just buyouts),
Cons
Being a flight attendant is also really stressful,
The uniforms suck,
The life of a reserve flight attendant at JetBlue is way harder than other airlines,
Huge difference in quality of supervisors, some are great, some are horrible.
Advice to Senior Management
More consistent training for supervisors, make sure they have inflight experience.
Better, non-polyester uniforms, fewer minimum rest layovers.
Send all Embraers back to the factory.
Pros
Good travel benefits (we have agreements with zillions of airlines)
Everyday is different
Young company
Great coworkers, by and large people here are very good to each other.
Feels stable for an airline
Transparency, makes you feel that you are part of the company
Cons
Pay
Health Benefits
Union arguments (be prepared from both sides, pro and con)
Certain lay over situations cause more hassle then help
General airline work rules (not just JB, but every airline this won't change)
Some people are complacent
Many people do not take pride in working for JB
Employee morale, feels like it's heading down quickly
destinations are not that interesting, and when they are, we don't layover there, and when we do; you'll only have time to sleep maybe eat, 24 and over layovers seem to be very rare, (I think most airlines are like this though)
There is too much inconsistency here.
There are lots of bad apples among a tons of shining stars, some of the apples can be polished, it's not just about getting to work on time, it's also about doing the job.
I don't think the focus of the company is clear enough, if it is, it is not being relayed correctly.
Advice to Senior Management
You should be bringing people and work groups together, not helping to tear them apart and cause arguments. We are one company and need to strive to make JB the best.
Please stop the union talk from your end, it doesn't make the work place that positive. If you want to stop unions then take action and show your employees, talking about it won't do anything.
Shareholders are important, but your employees are equally important, especially since many of us are also shareholders.
