Pros
Training and flexibility of work schedule.
Cons
Leads are bias and management is complacent.
Advice to Senior Management
Please be aware of what's going on!!
Pros
The flying benefits are highly appreciated; although, if there are issues with taking days off, then having them does not really matter.
Some really nice and experienced people work here but unfortunately all tend to leave.
The corporate culture is attractive; but is up to each department to hold those values.
Cons
Micromanagement caused by insecurity, lack of honesty in sharing information hurts the former innovative drive and progressive culture. Experienced employees jump out as soon as an opportunity is presented. Fearful employees cling to their positions and vote against change and improvement. Motivation is slowly destroyed when petty issues become the focus, and important aspects of strategy and improvement are hidden away.
Advice to Senior Management
Review and audit financial and HR processes to make them more accurate and reliable, reward and hire more really experienced people. Identify the ones who are against change, take away their power, it is hurting the company.
Pros
Greater flexibility of scheduling, and ability to change your schedule
Cons
Health Benefits not at industry standard yet
Advice to Senior Management
Don't take unionization personally. This is a individual choice to protect so much we have to loose.
Pros
flight benefits hotle and cruise discounts
Cons
crazy hours unfair managmennt rules
Advice to Senior Management
learn respect
Pros
It used to be a great place to work. There are still some great coworkers left. The travel benefits are great.
Cons
The current IT leadership has systematically dismantled all the skill and innovation in IT that made JetBlue great. There is a clear resentment from senior IT leadership, that have little industry background themselves, toward existing crewmembers that are experienced. This has resulted in the hiring of inexperienced new managers that are favored not for their skills, but for their inability to challange any thing. Kind of like the blind leading the blind, while JetBlue suffers from all the ill conceived decisions that are no longer challanged.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote IT leadership from within, or based on industry experience. Enough damage has already been done to IT, but it is not too late to fix it. We want to once again be proud of working at JetBlue.
Pros
A great airline, safety and customer satisfaction are very important.
Cons
the worst management -employee handling you will ever find. Merits are based exclusively on personal friendships, Even if they have an employees claims departments, your claims will never be attended and you will automatically become a problematic worker, Those people are terrified of unions, when they see something with a mind of their own, they;ll succeed in letting you go sooner or later. The worst employees turnover in US recent history, you can verify these facts.
Advice to Senior Management
I don't think the founders of the airline or the big shots are aware what their middle management is doing. They hire people with no knowledge of what human relations are. Most of these people were friends of the friends and ex employees and coworkers coming from other airlines. A lot of them were fired from other airlines.
Pros
meet a lot of greet people (customers, other crew members)
Travel benefits
schedule system which makes it convenient to pick up or give away shifts
Cons
HR is terrible
Upper Management is terrible
customers are treated better than most employees
treatment of former employees
Advice to Senior Management
the treatment of current and former employees needs to be fixed, i was a seasonal employee who was let go after being offered a full time position but because someone in HR screwed up rather then being transferred to my new position I was let go with the rest of the seasonal staff, they then had me go through the entire interview process again 2 weeks after i was let go for the same job I had already worked in for nearly a year, then after being told over and over no to worry I would be rehired, I got an email saying I wouldn't be rehired when I asked why all my emails were for the most part ignored.
Pros
Great work/personal life balance, challanging if want it to be, great at giving reviews, competitive pay, nice benefits (fly for free)
Cons
Office politics sometimes get in the way of giving promotions to people who trully deserve it.
Advice to Senior Management
Management that I had contact with has been great
Pros
Values
Teamwork
Desire to make a difference
Great People
Fast Paced
High Growth Opportunities
Engaged Leadership
Long term focus
See the World
Cons
Unrestrained Growth
Resource imbalances
Has Become Legacy Minded
Unseasoned Leadership in Key Roles
Lost Vision and Most Key Leaders
Customers treated better than Crewmembers
Advice to Senior Management
Try to get back to what made B6 unique and special with focus on the Crewmembers and the values. Lessons to be learned from WN and their disciplined focus - it can be done.
Pros
the people that reported to me always treated me with the respect that I deserved, and supporte my decisions as long as I explained to them why I made the decision.
Cons
Upper level management was clueless. They have to respect for hourly crewmembers or salaried supervisors, it's their way or the highway.
Advice to Senior Management
fire the entire crew services leadership team and start again. they have no idea what they are doing and are hardly ever there anyway
