    Ramper

Ramp Agent (Former Employee) Long Beach, CA

Prosflight benefits are great, get to work outside, physical work, flexible schedule, vacation and benefits even for part time employees.

Consearly monrings, late nights, very physical labor, seniority based schedules, very "gang like" atmosphere, long hours, incompetent middle management, many senior unhappy employees.

Advice to Senior Managementbetter pre-employment screening, make it easier to clean out the "dead wood" employees who have plenty of senority but dont want to work hard at all.

    Great internship.

Summer CollegeCrew (Former Employee) Forest Hills, NY

ProsPeople are very friendly, and it's a very collaborative environment. I like the emphasis on serving customers and each other. Flexible hours whenever needed. Great travel benefits too!

ConsRecruiting process was somewhat haphazard and notification came pretty late in the school year. It can sometimes be tough to get on flights.

Advice to Senior ManagementHonestly, keep doing what you're doing. Perhaps focus a bit more attention on behind-the-scenes Crewmembers, but I really enjoyed my experience.

Overall, a great place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsPositive environment, especially compared to other airlines. Easy to communicate with senior leadership. JetBlue has a great reputation and pay is reasonable.

ConsChanges to work rules, pay and product take are not introduced in a timely manner. Culture is not the same after a number of losses.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on bringing back the family culture to JetBlue. Small perks can mean a lot to crew members. Overall, I think management does a good job considering the current economic climate.

In Flight Crew Member (Former Employee)

ProsThe people are nice and the schedule is flexible. Also getting paid to travel is always a good thing.

ConsReserve lasts too long and when you are on reserve it is hard to plan anything.

Advice to Senior ManagementShorten reserve time

    Jet Blue losing focus

Ground Operations Lead (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsIt's a growing company and the benefits are great if you and your family likes to travel. Shift trades is also great, allows you to make adjustment to take care of personal things or attend school.

ConsSupervisors and management only think about their personal gain within the company, and there is no togetherness within the departments. Blame Always roll down hill to save one's job.

Advice to Senior ManagementCare for your workers like you say you care for the customers. Hire quality not quantity.

Great Airline to fly, not to work in corporate

Corporate (Current Employee) Forest Hills, NY

    ProsGreat with time off
Classes in MS Office, career development available
    Great flying benefits
    Good travel discounts
Parking or local transportation is paid for by the company

ConsThe airline has dramatically changed since the departure of our former CEO.
The management claims to support you but they do not. Promises are made that are never followed through with.
The company only recognizes three holidays, Christmas, New Years and Thanksgiving. You will have to take time off from your bank for the others.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop promoting friends and playing favoritism. See past people's schemes and look to see who is really working. Promote the people who work hard, not the people that are your best friend.

    Good company - poor department

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) New York, NY

Prosgreat benefits if you like to travel and the pay is pretty good. Company overall is a friendly and fun place to work in an exciting industry. Overall Leadership is good.

ConsMorale within IT is very low. No clear strategy and assumption that everything will be outsourced in the future. No career progression

Advice to Senior ManagementThe comapny has it's values, it would be good if they were followed in IT
