    Pros

The facility is well-staffed in administrative offices. There are many professional development opportunities. Staff is fairly communicative and IT is responsive.

    Cons

The facility could use some renovation. The company values are clear and most employees seem to truly accept and embody them, but some staff seem to be there just for their paycheck. Many floors are understaffed and CNAs/nurses need more support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give CNAs more opportunities for promotion and professional development.

I have been working at Jewish Home Lifecare full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

A "family-like" environment, supportive colleagues, wonderful residents, clients, patients and families, longevity of employees.

    Cons

Too many chiefs and not enough indians. It is challenging to perform work when you are constantly being called into meetings. Minutes to most meetings are not distributed. There is a clear lack of communication from the top down. Employee morale is terrible. Plans for long-term expansion exceed day-to-day staffing levels affecting quality of life for residents.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to open communication to all staff. Stop sending mixed messages. Penny-wise and pound foolish.

    Pros

Very professional senior management. Thoughtful, sincere and confident. The senior managers have an exceptionally detailed knowledge of the residents in long term care.

    Cons

No significant "cons" seen so far.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the family-like but highly professional atmosphere. The culture is egalitarian, not hierarchical--collaborative while remaining respectful of advanced titles and authority. This is great for clinical work, I hope it continues!

    Pros

The Manhattan campus is centrally located and easy to get to.

    Cons

There is no room for growth in this company. Career paths are neither instituted nor can they be created. Whatever level you come in as that is where you will remain. Forget the concept of annual salary increases...that is an urban myth here. Unless you like to be over worked, EXTREMELY under paid, and OVERLY underappreciated, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the importance of the people that work under you. They are valuable members of the team and showcase their value everyday. For every person that you undervalue there is a company that pays much more that will acknowledge and appreciate these individuals’ contributions. Be mindful that the recession will not last forever.

    Pros

This homecare agency is HORRIABLE!! the corrdinators, do not do there job properly, there qwick to throw you under the bus to save there behinds. Your not appreciated as a employe... There always hiring but with no perminte jobs to give. Every other week I seem to always have problems with payroll. As of now they owe me 16 hours from April... Still waiting on that.... O and the nerves of them to get a attitude with me when I call to inquire about money I have worked for dismissive to the highest level. This place is no HAPI!! Zone more like stress.

    Cons

All around HEADACHE!! I literally, would be so stressed out every payroll... Also with never having a steady case. Corrdinators never pick up there phones all around just a big mess. I speak upon this because multiple coworks complain about the same exact thing. A lot of them do not speak English and I think they take advantage of that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pick up your phones... Know what your doing and don't take your attitude out on others because you don't like your job.

    Pros

Corporate office is centrally located in a heart of the city.Public transportation is widely available and convenient Over all staff is pleasant. They have decent benefits and sick leave available.... and you will need it.

    Cons

Communication is poor , and 50% of the staff is carrying the work load of the other half. The morale is poor. The Directors do not lead by example and some be have as tyrants, this again lowers morale. Human resources needs more staff, because they constantly make mistakes with new hires. This environment is only tolerable for per diem work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is crucial and management by crisis, is just considered bad management. Plan Plan Plan.Reevaluate who is working and who is jaded.

    Pros

Great leaders/management team and co-workers that are passionate about their jobs and the organzations mission of lifecare. Great work life balance. Management encourgaes growth and development. Forward thinking organzation. I am very pleased to have come here to empower my career and help continue the growth of the organzation. Several of the staff have been around here for 20+ years and many are 10+ years in. That speaks volumes of an organzation. People that come here, stay here for the long haul (and are HAPI too).

    Cons

    No cons what so ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
