I have been working at Jewish Vocational Service full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

This was for people who were unemployed and underemployed I could see the changes in my students daily.

    Cons

Very hard to teach things with just pictures. I really did not have anything to train with except going around to pharmacies and asking for empty bottles. I created a mock pharmacy filled with bottles of medication filled with popcorn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They never knew how hard it was to teach because I never complained.

I worked at Jewish Vocational Service

    Pros

Good opportunities and decent pay. They will work hard to find you a good internship or good work position in the local community.

    Cons

Very poor communication with supervisors and they were very disorganized, having to do with the supervisors being new to the area. Could have been a better if only they had better organization and more communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Very good program with very great opportunities, but due to a lack of organization and doing things in a timely manner i would not recommend going through the troubles of trying to deal with unprofessional supervisors.

I have been working at Jewish Vocational Service

    Pros

JVS is a team oriented service because each department works with other departments on a regular basis to help serve consumers in the best way possible. There is a lot of communication within each specified department, and co-workers help each other out to get the job done right. JVS also supports walks and fundraisers that support mental health awareness.

    Cons

The only con to working with JVS is that it is a nonprofit organization, with an inability to reward wokers in the sense of bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership shown at JVS is very helpful, as supervisors and managers give their employees a boost and help them organize and manage their time as to produce effective work.
