    Pros

Group Atmosphere was second to none. Everyone wanted to get involved and hard work was recognized and sometimes rewarded. Highly recommend.

    Cons

There were very few negatives working for this specific company within the Jim pattison broadcast group. Strong benefits, fair compensation, broadcasters don't make much, JPBG was no different.

    Advice to Management

Continue giving employees a reason to stay, the veterans are what make the business truly appealing, unfortunately salary restrictions will create changeover, but it's a tight group and a tough place to leave.

  2. Seemed good on the surface, but disappointing once working here.

    Pros

It is a good place for people that want to kick start their broadcasting career, but don't plan on it being a lifetime job. For the most part, the staff members are positive and sociable. There are office events that one can sign up for.

    Cons

Job postings by this company are generally dishonest - they are willing to say a lot of things that are untrue in order to convince people to work there. The management is okay, but not great. The pay is well below industry standards. They are not flexible with hours. You often find yourself doing jobs that are not your own, since they are understaffed. They ignore labour laws.

    Advice to Management

Hire some more people and treat them well!

    Pros

You get to help businesses in their radio or tv advertising and feel rewarded when that business grows with your help.

    Cons

High stress, due to budgets not easy to meet at times and becomes challenging as budgets only go up each year. Businesses close and new ones open, where you have to start all over to develop new customers in order to establish them as regular advertisers. And because of the new way people absorb their music today, it has become even more challenging to sell the product as the yeas go by.

    Advice to Management

A hands on developmental mentoring and in depth product and sales training for inexperienced new sales reps would be beneficial in order to garner the best outcome and offer the best chances of succeeding to each new sales representative that works for the Radio/TV Station.

  5. Unless your willing to work long hours and a lot of them, this isn't the job for you.

    Pros

If you've never had a job before, this is the place to kick start your working career. If you want a lot of hours for minimum wage, then work here. If your a slacker and want to get away with it, work here. If you like to be pushed around, work here. Otherwise, don't work here.

    Cons

Unions. For teenagers they are completely useless, unless your a slack off. Secondly, it is a dead boring job, and the pay is crap. Some customers that come through your till are really nice, while others are complaining pricks.

    Advice to Management

Do your job better. When employees tell you they can't work a day and give you fair warning, respect them. If they need to cut down their hours (Which I didn't even want) Respect them, especially when its for school. When you promise a retention bonus, pay the full thing and don't tell us it varies for your avg hrs per week once we get the bonus. Learn to be honest, and respectful of employees.
