Former Employee – worked at Jobfox full-time for more than a year

ProsA team of employees (not management) work well together.

ConsThe comments here show a history of the cons of working for Jobfox and why it's sinking quickly. It seems that one day we are hiring the best and brightest and the next day they are walking out the door. Marketing is not done properly so too much money is being spent focusing on something that could easily work if they would just listen to their customers. There are so many complaints about Jobfox all over the web and each of them are valid. The leadership at Jobfox has always looked for quick fixes instead of looking at the long term solution to what is going to take them down.
It truly could have been a company that surpassed even the best of the job boards. Either the management have been given terrible advice or they see there is some way to save themselves.

Advice to Senior ManagementNot listening to the complaints from the users of Jobfox has had big consequences. Micro managing the middle managers (who have great ideas for the product) has caused some of the best to leave. Do not hide what is really going on with the company and then take people by surprise by telling us we won't get paid. Keep your promise about communicating with ex employees instead of ignoring them. No matter how wonderful the product "could" have been it was the mistakes made by the executives who have simply not paid attention.

Former Employee – worked at Jobfox

ProsThey used to be great. The job was fine for about 2 years. Some of the managers are great to work with. The senior managers are in a different league and out of touch with the regular worker.

ConsLet's just say that it's a sinking ship and I never received my last two paychecks. That's the worst feeling - a full month's work was apparently pro bono. But, I should have seen it coming - the company seemed to be slowing down at the end of last year and this year, it's just not able to pick itself back up.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou should pay your debts and run an honest business. I think there were many talented people that believed in the company, but nobody works for free.

Pros-Great work/life balance
-Great place to learn and grow your professional self
-Friendly, helpful staff
-Free snacks, happy hours, and coffee!

ConsJobfox has a lot of potential but just can't grasp the ideas and opportunities that makes it so special. Management does not take the time to reward current employees or maintain the talent they develop. They are always looking for the faster, cheaper, and less forward-thinking solution. All decisions are made with the next week in mind rather than the next month, year, etc. Upper management thinks they have rid themselves of their "scam" moniker, but is painfully out of touch with reality. Positions are not filled, but rather more responsibility is dumped on employees doing 2 if not more roles at once.

Current Employee – been working at Jobfox

ProsThere are few "best" reasons for working at Jobfox but for the sake of not being all negative I would say that most of the third class passengers (i.e., those not in management) get along well and work good together.

ConsThe senior staff (first class passengers) are the ones that treat each other very well and as the ship is sinking, they will likely put themselves on the life boats and let the rest of us drown. There is little respect from the management and the only communication from them is mainly negative. The current executives are ones that have been there from the very beginning so nothing changes. We work very hard but get little praise or thanks for a job well done even after we have worked long hours to deliver the product. There are a lot of complaints about the services on the web but management will not take the advice of the general public. If the company is the titanic, then the general public is the iceburg that will take it down because nobody is paying attention and we are going full speed ahead into a deep plunge. Sadly the only survivors will be the first class passengers who can blame it on anyone but themselves.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize the hard work of the third class passengers. Understand that the people complaining about Jobfox should be heard and not written off. Try to keep executive staff that is hired because the only people there now have been there since the beginning and aren't making the necessary changes to keep the company afloat and it's sinking fast.

Current Employee – been working at Jobfox

ProsVery relaxed work atmosphere with lots of very friendly and intelligent people who are there to help guide you in the right direction.

ConsA lot is asked with little appreciation from management and minor personal return. Most employees under the age of 25 are living at home or receiving assistance from their parents.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward employees for their hard work while making all responsibilities apparent. Employees of all levels and departments feel like they are "wearing many hats" because they are being handed the responsibilities and duties that would be normally handled by several.

ProsLegendary Leadership that has come from successful organizations. Fun start-up environment that requires hard work but rewards you for it. Great people to work with and communicate with.

ConsOverall I've been pretty happy with Jobfox. I think we're growing so fast that the office space is getting a bit small.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep working hard to drive the team to deliver value add products. There is Nothing better than hearing from happy customers.

Former Employee – worked at Jobfox

ProsThere aren't really too many "best reasons" to work at Jobfox.

ConsRefusal to listen to the users of Jobfox. Both from the job seekers and the employers. The upper management has gone way beyond the point of returning the company to being reputable. They are trying to solve problems they don't understand - but upper management IS the problem and instead they blame poor revenue on the sales and marketing staff who are fired without explanation. They are making the application so complex that the sales staff can't keep up with new features. Layoffs were done over a conference call. Communication between upper management and employees is non-existent. They hire you as an "expert" and then micromanage you out of a job. The original concept of Jobfox was outstanding. Had it been marketed properly and the application managed by the technology team properly it could have been a great company. Jobfox doesn't have anything that makes the superior to the many other jobboards on the web.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire a management team that is in touch with the users Jobfox wants to attract.
"Cool" features aren't always user friendly features in the Jobfox application.
Listen to the users. Period.
Communicate with the employees and treat them like adults.
Don't tell employees they should be fearful of losing their jobs.
