I worked at John C. Lincoln Health Network (more than a year)

    Pros

Small nimble and efficient pre merger

    Cons

Post-merger it's bloated and inefficient bureaucratic and officious. There are no redeeming qualities now that they are part of the Scottsdale System.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look past the rhetoric and smoke being blown by you managers and look closely at the satisfaction of your customers and users. Off load that ton of contractors sucking you dry and hire professionals to do you real work. When your contracting team leaves you will lose all the knowledge with them. This is a REAL problem fo for you.

I worked at John C. Lincoln Health Network full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Supervisors that understand that employees have a life outside of work and are very accomodating with requested time off

    Cons

recent merger/affiliation has created a hostile attendence policy...creating a situation where employees are forced to lie when tardy to say that they can't swipe in because they forgot their badge...or risk losing their job. So the most honest of the employees who can't lie end up getting the boot.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

eyes wide open. life happens. don't force your best employees out the door with an attendence policy that's ridiculous and leaves you with the liars.

I have been working at John C. Lincoln Health Network

    Pros

The caliber of my coworkers on my shift is extraordinary. Department management tries to be compassionate and flexible.

    Cons

Do more with less, slim staffing, merger w/ Scottsdale health.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your staff, don't just hear them. Overworked employees are not happy employees.

I have been working at John C. Lincoln Health Network full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I have worked in 4 different hospitals, and this one is the best. Those who complain are upset because the industry has changed, but Lincoln still puts patients first and gives back to the community.

    Cons

Some people have worked her a long time, and don't know anything about other practices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Thanks for putting patients first.

I worked at John C. Lincoln Health Network full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There's a lot of good people that work there. I wouldn't say there is a higher percentage of good people at JCL than other employers but that's the only pro.

    Cons

Poor management from the CEO to charge nurses and supervisors. Management is good at blaming others for their mistakes. Pay is poor. Very short staffed. Student loan reimbursements have disappeared. Medical benifits are poor. If you ever have an issue with one of your many managers DO NOT GO TO HR! HR will quickly dispose of you and side with their management buddies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find something your actually good at.

I have been working at John C. Lincoln Health Network full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Education good and excellent teamwork despite complaining by ALL staff.

    Cons

Top heavy in managment who have no idea what is going on with RNs, PCTs ,and other staff. Unsafe patient care due to high acuities and an increase in psych patients. Always short staffed!!! Favoritism by dept. managers. Good luck getting your vacation as requested. Incivility rules!!!! If you want to be bullied work for JCL. Supposed to be Magnet but RNs constantly get 6 patients with very high acuities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes. Maybe the people coming in from Scottsdale will help.
