    nice environment depending upon position

    Departmental Administrative Support (Current Employee)

Prostuition benefit, 37.5 hour week, wonderful feel of support among the support staff, particularly secretaries and admin assistants, very, very friendly atmosphere
    beautiful campus

Conslow hourly pay for support staff, but other benefits good
hourly pay for secty/admin at or below povery level, but they recently enhances the tuition benefit
office support staff generally feels undervalued and not respected enough by Administration, particularly the men in university administration
training for those new in their positions, non-faculty, is non-existent
there is a real heavy handed push to be all about cultural and religious diversity and inclusion, which is usually a good thing, but here it comes at the expense of Christian and Catholic beliefs. Odd for a Catholic institution

Advice to Senior Managementstop being such a "boys club" it really is noticeable
yes, the appointment of several women as academic deans etc is great, but thank goodness for them. without them, the boys club mentallity would be suffocating the support staff women

    Part-time teaching

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsA very nice campus environment.

ConsFavoritism is practiced here in a country-club working atmosphere. Pay is among the lowest in the state for university teaching positions.

Advice to Senior ManagementJustice begins at home.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Underpaid Far Too Long

    Senior Librarian (Current Employee)

ProsLove working with my colleagues, love working with students, love librarianship, small enough to get to know many people well, beautiful campus,

ConsSlow to act, resistant to change, topdown management', often unfair to at will employees, too many administrators, need more staff in the library, especially at the librarian level, other areas are also understaffed, faculty governance efforts are undervalued and lack support

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize the accomplishments of the little guys, provide larger employer share to retirement benefits, observe the Faculty Handbook

    fair and acceptable

    Associate Professor (Current Employee)

ProsGreat upper adminstration to work for but at the college level, the old country club mentatlity exists. Great students population.

ConsThey do in breeding quite a bit. They do not allow outsiders to get into important positions. If you are not in the "Club", you are not promoted to anything

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease make sure that Associate deans are qualify for the jobs that they are assigned to do. For example, managing graduate faculty when she herself has never taught graduate level classes.
