I worked at John Mezzalingua full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Newly hired management team was able to see talent within the company and tried to help promote them. Good health benefits and tuition reimbursement benefits

    Cons

There is a cancerous group that behave like "survivors" and try to sabotage new ideas and things that would help the company. Management looks the other way. Hopefully things have changed now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not tolerate stifling behavior. Do not tolerate the cancerous group.

I have been working at John Mezzalingua full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Very good pay if you earn it. They do not give anything for free, but you will eventually be rewarded. There is a lot of opportunity to learn if you want it. opportunity to advance is so so, but the opportunity to learn a lot about machining is there.

    Cons

Some very poor bosses in place, the lazy stay lazy and rarely get punished. Morale is low due to major mandatory overtime, and a cut throat boss or two. More work to be done, than qualified people to do it. Very fast pace, high stress environment. Management often likes brown nosers over the people who actually do the work. Poor reputation does not attract many qualified workers. A lot of dead weight that just gets ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You do not own your employees, if you force them to work mandatory overtime for a year straight, at least show up on a weekend or two and support your employees. Respect is earned, not forced. Stop hiring ex union employees with little actual experience.
