I worked at John Zink as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Very nice people, great pay, plenty of work to do, very challenging assignments, excellent work-life balance...

The CEO isn't some figure in the sky. He's at the office all the time, and he takes the time to speak with you. As an intern, I spoke with him for 20 minutes about school, life, and things to look forward to in engineering.

    Cons

Did not have much time to train me on specific parts of the field.

I had no field opportunities as an intern. It would have been nice to see the project I was working on.

    Pros

Growing company in growing stable industry
    Decent pay

    Cons

Parent company (Koch Industries) is essentially run by legal department which trickles down to all subsidiaries.
Very strong bias in corporate that values degrees over actual work experience.

I worked at John Zink full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I don't know any pros for personal growth or leadership. They are all bad people who just want to destroy employees after they left the company.

    Cons

Bought most of competitors out. Merged and integrated all of them. People were fighting each other to gain more power. Company selected very young guys with no experience to lead and manage more experience and good employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Select manager based on talent, not on sweet talks
