Great people and environment. The culture was very good up to recent changes.

New ownership brought in new seniot management that changed the culture and not for the better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the Franchise Adfund work exclusively to increase sales using smarter strategies and tactics and not just use it to pay for highly paid C-level employees.

I have been working at Johnny Rockets part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

It made me more alert with money and customer service. Great tips. Free food. Customers can be really nice.

    Cons

It gets hot. Customers are so dumb and annoying sometimes. You have to share tips with the chef. Waking up early. Being hurried when youre running already.

I have been working at Johnny Rockets

    Pros

Downtown location means lots of tourists. Summer traffic can be hard to keep up with at first but the tips are worth it on those days.
Winter months are slower but steady. Energetic work environment

    Cons

Poor communication to employees from management and ownership. People can be rude.

    I worked at Johnny Rockets

    Pros

Starting job. I made good tips for a sixteen year old. It was busy on the weekends. I didn't want to have to dance. You have to dance every now and then whenever a certain song comes on. They teach you the dance moves. Kinda silly. I would try to hide. Anyway, it was a fun but tiring job.

    Cons

    Some coworkers attitudes really sucked.

I worked at Johnny Rockets as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Things are explained well and you are given sufficient time for your work and your life. The people are great, especially the low level managers. The other servers were always extremely helpful and I would way that is the best part about this job.

    Cons

I would say this company is extremely vertical, it takes a bit to get in the door and upper management is sometimes a bit pushy and demanding. Sometimes it seemed as though there was poor planning as far as the menu was concerned which lead to poor tips.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would really recommend the managers took more time out to at least pretend they cared about the workers.

    Pros

Ability to learn and show your skills easily and quickly

    Cons

Growth is stunted and the first impression last longer than it should.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Easy to get to Supervisor but the company is not growing.

  11. Fun place with good food, lacks strong structured management and opportunities.

I worked at Johnny Rockets part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The work load is set up to be quick and not too demanding on the employees, and the environment is fun with catchy tunes that allows the servers to get to dance and to be outgoing. Managers do not have high demands for office duties and are not watched like hawks, the lower level employees benefit from this because it means less stress and conflicts do to a work place overloading it's workers.

    Cons

Benefits are not the best, tips are kind of low because of the age of the people it attracts(depending on location). Because the lack of structure in the management, managers have a lot of time spent working by the sides of their employees which can be good or bad, some are chill while others can be overbearing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rally the employees by respecting them and treating them like this job is either a great career for some or a great stepping stone for others by getting them to see that the skills they develop there will continue to benefit them throughout there lives both to advance into future careers and just in there personal lives in general by gaining the people skills and positive mindset driven by a team effort.
