    Good professors, good peers!

    Graduate Research Assistant (Current Employee)
    Baltimore, MD

ProsGood academic environment. The people here are very nice and you will enjoy to work with the top professor s ans students. The building is very comfortable.

ConsBalitmore is not a top choice city. The pay is very low. It is only a right place if you want to do academic but maybe not good if you want to go to industry.

    The Mirror is Cracked

    Administrative Secretary (Current Employee)
    Baltimore, MD

ProsMy co-workers are great and makes it bearable to be in the office as we share the commonality of sometimes adverse working conditions and difficult superiors.

ConsUnsympathetic superiors who may sometimes use their positions to bully support staffers. The way call-outs for staffers are implemented (more than 5 in the course of the year is cause for disciplinary action).

Advice to Senior ManagementInclude support staffers from all levels in strategic planning meetings so that a "voice" from that group can fully participate in discussions as opposed to just being a "resource" that can be used to fit whatever needs of the Staffers are beings that are just as valuable as the researchers and faculty members that are paid very highly for their expertise and that should be reflected in how support staffers are treated as well.

Good place to learn, academic center

    Consultant (Current Employee)
    Baltimore, MD

ProsGreat learning opportunities, people are willing and eager to teach, typical academic center and great place to be if you are a clinician or researcher.

    ConsPoor salaries
Low flexibility with work timings and telecommuting, again typical of healthcare settings
Work culture and subculture can differ within specific areas, its a luck of draw, and you can end up with very supportive management or not.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    scholarship towards to PhD degree

    PhD Student (Current Employee)
    Baltimore, MD

ProsAcademic excellent institute, research is almost no.1 in medicine area. If you want to become a professor, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine is a vary good choice for phd programs.

Conslow salary for students, although they are working very hard which contributes more than what they are given. Biology PhDs have narrow career developments than other computational majors.

Review from med school applicant / research assistant perspective

    Research Assistant (Current Employee)
    Baltimore, MD

ProsTons of opportunities for cutting-edge research, education, mentorship, shadowing, etc especially for the medical school applicant

ConsPay is horrible across the board, but experience is priceless (dependent on your proactiveness and ability to capitalize on opportunities available)
