Pros
Live and work the student life and conference trips are usually paid for with grant funds. Lots of smart people to work with and learn from. It's pretty cool.
Cons
Work long hours and student pay is pretty low
Advice to Senior Management
I don't have any advice for the senior management. Well, maybe they should consider increasing student pay. That is all.
Pros
Superiors are very understanding about providing a good work/life balance. Room to grow and learn.
Cons
Most of the other employees are older, so it's not an ideal workplace environment for younger people.
Pros
excellent environment ... great faculty....very very competitive environment for growth
ofcourse nothing to match the thrill of working in such an environment in any area
Cons
could be very stressful at times, though the great students and post docs are a motivation
loction could be better but nothing to complain about. Fees are extremely high!
Pros
Great health benefits and access to world class medicine
Cons
No advancement opportunities, no compensation based on real merit
Pros
They are a terrific research institution.
Cons
The compensation is very low.
Pros
The colleagues, students and benefits are outstanding - the place is filled with very bright, creative people who are challenging and fun to work with.
Cons
The institution is highly bureaucratic and slow to change. People take a long time to come around to new ways of doing things.
Pros
The campus is really compact and the professors are really nice if you have questions for them. I am glad I come to hopkins for my study.
Cons
The neighbor around the campus is nice. However, when you go a little bit further away from the campus, the safety might be a concern.
Advice to Senior Management
Hopkins is a really leader in both science & technology and education. The institution is very influential in the medical research area. I think the engineering school should be strengthened to be listed as top 3 also.
Pros
great reputation, especially in the fields of medicine and public health. excellent resources. great place to be for research
Cons
very few companies come to on-campus recruitment and since we're competing with other North-East schools we get shafted in the recruiting process
Advice to Senior Management
get more companies to recruit on campus!
Pros
Johns Hopkins has great benefits and have remarkable acumen in health matters. It is a research institution as well.
Cons
Johns Hopkins working on the university side have great benefits, but rarely get promoted or given a raise.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote people who are exceeding expectations.
Pros
smart people, good organization, cares about the student body
Cons
too bureaucratic, nothing really bad to say about the University
Advice to Senior Management
keep up the good work
