Pros
Met some genuine people willing to collaborate.
Cons
Massive layoffs to placate stock holders.
Back stabbing management; use surprise tactics during performance evaluations.
Concentrate way too much on political correctness and much less on running the business effectively.
Advice to Senior Management
Carefully evaluate the Holland based facility's senior management. The work environment is politically stifling; people are constantly watching their backsides.
Pros
- Very supporting people , always ready to help.
- You are given responsibility, not some shitty intern projects.
- Very Diverse, professionally and ethnically.
Cons
- Salary not competetive as other fortune 100 or rather 500 companies like Cummins, Shlumberger
-They should place people at right job as per skills where they can perform better.
- No talk about full time job offer, emails were not replied back.
- Not many young people in the company, but its means more opportunities for someone who joins now for full time.
Advice to Senior Management
Really need to prepare future leadership, bring in more talented young faces and mentor them about business and future roles. Listen to your employees where they want to work and help them shape their career.
Pros
The Compensation and Benefits package.
Cons
Poor managment at the local level.
Pros
Johnson Controls has great vision and execution at a Global Level; The strongest divisions being in batteries and Automotive Experience (interior seating). Very good successes in Building Efficieny group as well.
Cons
The local branches lacks supportive management in some locations...specifically the training & supportive resources needed to be successful. No formalized introductory training like most large corporate companies would have. Mafia-like executive management drives fear into their staff instead of fostering open communication.
Advice to Senior Management
It's time to take an internal look at the executive and management staff instead of the underlings who report to them.
Pros
high pay
friendly people
clean environment
offer good health benefits
promote healthy living by offering workout classes and exercise room
Cons
no communication
no support
no guidance
bad location
need better training for new employees/interns
no space/limited space
takes forever for something to happen
Advice to Senior Management
More communication, support and guidance for new Interns.
Pros
Great management, very goal oriented. If you want to get things done efficiently, Johnson Controls is the place to be.
Cons
Hours can be long, not always the most exciting work but management takes each task as serious as the next.
Pros
Overall my experience with JCI has been excellent as I've been afforded with great opportunities to lead and grow. They are very focused on operating results and meeting forecasts to the street. Excellent operating company.
Cons
JCI is a big company and slow to innovate when compared to startups. They are changing this through the introduction of new products.
Advice to Senior Management
From an innovation standpoint, I would recommend JCI seek to establish a leadership position within the industry. They are in a unique position to set industry direction vs. have it set by others.
Pros
Johnson Controls values and spends resources on its educational process. Education and qualification as a Six Sigma Black Belt are requirements for promotion.
Cons
Johnson Controls is a very large organization with several layers of management and controls from central headquarters. This centralized structure affects its ability to provide quality support in some cases.
Advice to Senior Management
Decentralize support to the local level - especially in the area of IT support. The "Help" Desk was known as the "Hell" desk and several other unflattering names.
Pros
Great hours, great co-workers, excellent management
Cons
IT is terrible, language barriers when working with international workers
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work!! Remain dedicated to employee engagement and communication.
Pros
Small presence in India , so lot of opportunities
Involves a lot of overseas travel
Cons
Very Slow Career Growth
No defined career plan
Low paymasters
Advice to Senior Management
Please have a defined career path and a proper onboarding system for new joinees
