Pros
They work in a team environment, meeting to improve cohesion between work and team participation in an effective manner. Performance measured with results
Cons
Room for improvements in facility design and health concerns. These issues are in work in progress status and is a good start.
Advice to Senior Management
This is not something I have no knowledge of or a place to say. But according to the history of this company it has shown progressive improvments.
Pros
Easy work, 40 hour week, fun coworkers.
Cons
Management lacks skills to manage business, lack of strategy and direction, getting blind-sided by other managers.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn to respect your people and watch your turnover numbers decrease.
Pros
It depends who do you work for and with, they may make you feel home and more than welcomed, or they may micro-manage your breath in order for him/her to get promoted.
I worked for several years there where I enjoyed every moment I spent at JCI. In my first role, I grew up a lot. However, once I moved to a corporate role, my manager was all about "himself". More than happy yo throw you under the bus, in order for him to shine... So, mixed feelings.
Cons
Again, if you work for the Corporate Department, expect crazy politics and unprofessional behavior from some of the leadership.
Advice to Senior Management
I would offer the leadership a course to learn some manners and respect, and understand how to appreciate people's talents and efforts.
Pros
Being in FM / real estate business, offices are pleasant as you would expect.
Some great people in the organisation and at the very top of organisation
Blue chip clients
Doing well inspite of economic climate
Cons
Very hierachical / political at senior /middle / account director management level - jobs for the boys(and girls)!
Compensation package not commensurate with with what's expected - mostly take and very little give
Poor work /life balance - expected to be online around the clock - holidays, weekends, attending a funeral, hospital....
People are treated as a disposable commodity
Advice to Senior Management
Value your employees and give them the opportunity to recharge their batteries. You have a lot of highly professional, loyal employees, but also some real prima donnas with little or no respect for their staff.
Pros
Established business, experienced field staff
Cons
Too many talking heads in charge
Advice to Senior Management
Hire people with industry experience to lead departments.
Pros
some of the best reasons to work @ JCI include job security, growth potential and learning opportunities. JCI is a (global company with a continuous stream of career opportunities across 3 global business units. JCI has a nicely diverseified portfolio of offerings, and the innovation culture ensures that this portfolio will continue to develop over the long term.
Cons
Working at JCI may just be the toughest job you'LL ever love, because it's long hous and low pay, but the people, facilities and projects have an energy that I haven't seen anywhere else, and I've been around.
Advice to Senior Management
Find more opportunities to weave strategic vision into daily communication.
Pros
Multiple growth opportunities throughout the world. Suggestions and, ideas are highly encouraged and, proven paramount to the company's ongoing success and, growth objectives.
Cons
The only downside I've noticed is system changes are implemented with little notice.
Advice to Senior Management
Solicit and, Involve end-users in determining system functionality/features prior to deployment. Employees will feel they played an integral role in designing an application they use on a day-to-day basis, fostering increased respect that they are valued.
Pros
The company is very motivated by technology
Cons
If you are not in the good old boys club forget it.
Advice to Senior Management
mix up management
Pros

Cons
Long hours but overall not too bad
Advice to Senior Management
Keep it up! Maybe get a new manager because this one is not the best though definitely doing a great job overall
Pros
Fortune 100 Company that plays well to the Street
Diverse business model that insulates the organization
Well recognized brand equity within market place
Executive Leadership has good intentions
Cons
Employees are disposable commodities
Complete disconnect between Corporate Leadership and Field Management in BE
Highly "Good ol' BOY" politically driven career advancement organization
HR plays ostrich when issues are raised
Huge locomotive that tries to be a trolley car when changing direction – which is FREQUENT (every 2 years)
Advice to Senior Management
Having spent 8 years of my career in various leadership positions with one of the other top 4 HVACR manufacturers; I have been extremely surprised and disappointed by my employment with JCI BE. I would highly recommend the BE organization review the employee attrition rates compared to the industry and focus on becoming the "Employer of Choice" by industry leaders, not one specific field, fresh college grads, or those that haven't been exposed to the competitors. The LEM model is excellent, however; simply talking the talk doesn't drive/motivate employees to walk the walk when they are not lead by example. Industry leaders don't stay at JCI long for valid reasons.
