Pros – some of the best reasons to work @ JCI include job security, growth potential and learning opportunities. JCI is a (global company with a continuous stream of career opportunities across 3 global business units. JCI has a nicely diverseified portfolio of offerings, and the innovation culture ensures that this portfolio will continue to develop over the long term.
Cons – Working at JCI may just be the toughest job you'LL ever love, because it's long hous and low pay, but the people, facilities and projects have an energy that I haven't seen anywhere else, and I've been around.
Advice to Senior Management – Find more opportunities to weave strategic vision into daily communication.

Current Employee – been working at Johnson Controls
Pros – Global leader in creating & delivering green technology
Active in community
Focus on green, sustainable technology is not just a growth industry but work everyone is excited to do.
Cons – Decentralized & lack of communication among business units
Runs very lean - limited resources
Limited programs to train & develop employees means many people in same job for 10-20+ years
Advice to Senior Management – Implement best practices among all business units
Stock price is important, but turnover is high because of underpaid, overworked employees.

Former Employee – worked at Johnson Controls
Pros – Name recognition
Green company
Good benefits package (if you are lucky to get one)
Cons – IT has too much politics affecting employee moral and productivity.
IT management lives in a different world than you - average employee. They usually have no clue about the technical stuff and form their opinions based on whoever they think they can trust with technical issues. Difficult to work with the management. No team attitude!
Blaming attitude in IT.
Advice to Senior Management – IT management needs to open up and listen to their team members. IT management needs to educate themselves on technical knowledge so that they can make better informed decisions. IT management needs to stay away from politics and help resolve conflicts between different teams that is causing grid lock. IT management needs to emphasize on team work attitude so that different teams do not block each other's access or hamper each other's productivity.

Pros – The time off given for holidays and sick days is great. There is a lot of opportunity for growth and HR has many programs in place to assist employees to achieve higher levels of employment and more job skills.
Cons – There is very little employee recognition. We had to pay for our own employee recognition luncheon and our own Christmas lunch. There is no employee appreciation day or week.
Advice to Senior Management – Recognize your employees!! They are the ones who got you to where you are at,

Pros – Green company! brilliant people, good for growth and development - but you need to let management know that you want to grow and develop and what you are interested in. If you are open with them, most managers will help good employees stay motivated and happy.
Cons – Large company, can be difficult to navigate. Headquarters is in MKE where it is COLD! Can be long hours if working on important projects.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep it up! 125 years in the busines is great, and I look forward to growing with the company for years to come.
