    Pros

You get the support of Head Quarters, management allows the flexibility to work from home, from the office and gives you comp time when you work extra hours.

    Cons

All the new technologies we are rolling out internally are still having issues and it seems like we are trying to do to much to quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people in the field locations. They know your customers and interact with them every day!

    Pros

    - multinational where you can really extend your skills and knowhere, where you can learn and grow

    Cons

    - if you work in a HQ role (or European HQ role), things are more easy to grow in the company. If you work in a local branch, it is a complete different life and not that easy
    - continuous SG&A cost cuting projects, cutting to and sometimes even in the bone of the employees.
    - due to very high senior management rotation, the strategy and tactics change quite often

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - be more consistent in the senior management staffing
    - understand that you operate also in Europe. We do care less about stuff that is important in the US, and care about other things. Europe is not a country either ;)

The company had opportunities for growth but sold their Automotive business as they want to focus on other business.

    Pros

The compensation was very good, above average in general. Bonus was also good when there was one. There is definitely room for growth and promotions in the company but it seems like there are more opportunities if you work in the head quarter in Milwaukee, WI as its the common case for companies.

    Cons

Lot of overtime hours if you are in the Automotive business. At the end, the automotive business was sold to Visteon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more training for the employees. Benefits can also be better.

    Pros

Great chance to develop new skills, grow in career, network and meet people, be challenged and explore opportunities

    Cons

Hard to get a full-time job when you start as an intern. No benefits as an intern and no chance of a raise

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring on the people you've invested time and money on and don't leave them hanging

    Pros

Great people, very high ethical standards, excellent benefits. All around a very decent company to work for.

    Cons

Sometimes struggles to put the focus on the customers needs as opposed to what they want to sell.

    Pros

As an intern considering applying for full-time employment at JCI I have seen various parts of the business for over a year. Johnson Controls has:great benefits, a very nice working environment, positive sense of community, and helpful employees. Management is very keen on employee feedback as well from what I've seen.

    Cons

My only con is they are understaffed. Even as an intern I found myself working later than expected. Additionally, I have noticed that most directors have moved from other positions - many people have worked their way up to manager through JCI, but it seems like they reach out to other companies for most leadership roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.
