Cons
work/life balance lacking, difficulty advncing unless you are apart of a leadership & development program
Advice to Senior Management
Try to truly understand your employee's talents and interest. Once you understand what they are capable of, the road to success will become easier.
Pros
Great environment, good working culture
Cons
Long hours, other than that everything is good
Pros
The people, the work life balance, management support, countless job opportunities, a variety of support via form of affinity group, summer hours, smart co-workers, great learning experience, educational support.
Cons
Although work-life balance is encouraged, the pace of work can become pretty hectic at times. Support the employees, by allowing them better opportunities to reinvest money into the business. Generally speaking, most will make good choices.
Advice to Senior Management
Change the wage disparity gap. Other than that I'm very supportive of management at J&J. Hard to justify the CEO's wages during a time where cost cutting affects all of the associates. Additionally, although a firm's goal may be to maximize shareholder value, it is unrealistic to think that we can always achieve double digit quarterly growth.
Pros
A large corporation that tries to do the right thing. Ethical behavior and following guidelines are very important.
Cons
Very large company, and as with any other company, politics play a major role in advancement opportunities particularly among the multitude of inexperienced lower level managers.
Pros
The people are wonderful at johnson and johnson
Cons
Lots of hours to work
Advice to Senior Management
Stop Micromanaging
Pros
It is a big corporation with many small. Company environments.
Cons
Middle management doesn't behave always the way top mngmnt would like it to, you need a sponsor or you can get lost
Advice to Senior Management
Stay with the Credo! The most important asset the company has is it's value system as laid out in the Credo written by General Johnson in the late 1940s
Pros
Large company environment. Good career opportunities for younger people. Profitable company. Decent career and education prospects. Not a bad place to work.
Cons
Opposite of what I wrote before. Unless you are a member of the leadership team - not much initiative needed. Not too much support for innovation.
Advice to Senior Management
Create some excitement. Perhaps we need a call for a "moon shot". We need to inspired. We need to be rapidly growing or acquiring other businesses and technology.
