I worked at Johnson & Johnson Medical as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work environment, excellent people and the company had a giving environment. Good benefits and remuneration.

    Cons

Lacks work life balance. In human treatment when an employee becomes sick. Instead of supporting they are laid off to save trouble. Lay offs the decision IS BASED ON ONE MANAGERS VIEW AND NOT THE TEAMS as a result the company suffers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When an employee with good standing is laid off, investigate if it was a fair decision by doing an anonymous survey of the entire team .HR should conduct an exit interview for all in order to get to the truth of some unscrupulous managers and their unfair attitude that causes losses for the company.Plus respect the employees who dedicated years of work and give a decent notice period and not slap him / her on face with a termination letter when they come to work one fine day DON'T TREAT GOOD EMPLOYEES LIKE CRIMINALS. IT DOES NOT SUIT THEIR VISION OR CREDO Its a very sad and mean way to treat sincere, loyal employees who have given their sweat and blood to keep the business going for years.

I have been working at Johnson & Johnson Medical full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

High salary, extraordinary benefits (breakfast, lunch, company gymn, company car, phone, iPad, ect), high skilled workforce, competent managerial class, internal courses, trainings, professional company culture

    Cons

Indulged managerial class, used to high salary and benefits. insecure contractual conditions (they ususally offer temporary contracts and internships). Long working hours but at the same time most of the positions do not forsee career progress. Work load is increasing while back office staff is decreasing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Save on management and workforce expenditures, not on back office stuff. Assure prosperous contractual conditions.

I worked at Johnson & Johnson Medical full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's a good place to work if you are interested in the medical devices industry.
Allows you to develop useful contacts in the medical industry.

    Cons

    Unstructured management trainee program.
Unfocussed and uninterested Human Resources Department.
The organization does not adequately identify and develop talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Overhaul the MT programme.
It is important for any MNC serious about it's operations in India to have a talent development programme which is at par with global standard.

I have been working at Johnson & Johnson Medical

    Pros

Great training opportunities but very little mentorship.

    Cons

Still very much an old boy's club. Advancement not always based on aptitude and competency but rather who at the next level has your back. Very little trust fostered in the corporate environment both amongst management and certainly between them and the front line workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show more respect for your employees. You are not fooling anyone by putting a spin on what is really going on. Integrity means being honest and truthful.
