    Pros

Friendly environment to work. The company also encourages a healthy lifestyle which is great for employees.

    Cons

It's hard to get into the company. You have to know someone or get a great recommendation or reference. It takes a while to advance in the company as well.

  2. Great people and company that will continue to do great things

    Pros

Overall I would not recommend working in the Corporate Audit group, however, if you usually don't have many commitments with friends or family and like to travel 75% of the time, then you might like working in this group for a limited amount of time, but make sure to rotate out when you time is up so you don't negatively impact your career development.

    Cons

I would not recommend working in the Corporate Internal Audit group as management is:
    -unqualified
    -lacks "real world" experience
    -exhibits few leadership skills
-passes most work down to the staff
    -has limited coaching abilities
-escalates conflicts, does not resolve them
    -plays favorites with the staff

    Advice to Management

Positions in audit should be rotational, including for management, so all individuals should go out and get some experience working in the business to get out of their comfort zone.

  5. Co-Op

    Pros

Fantastic Culture with strong structured progarm

    Cons

Filling a role does not translate to a true intern experience; your daily duties are all encompassing and branching out to different tasks is rather difficult.

  6. Big responsibilities, big challenges

    Pros

J&J gives you lots of opportunities to learn, excel, and impress in order to be recommended for the FLDP program. As a co-op, I've been given lots of budgeting responsibilities and projects that focus on my weaknesses. I love my coworkers and the inclusive, community culture here.

    Cons

There are big expectations, and the stakes are high. Only a few people are recommended for FLDP, so there's a lot of pressure on everyday work.

    Advice to Management

    Interact with "lower" employees more.

    Pros

    Supportive co-workers
Great benefits and employee support through health and wellness
Very interesting work - feel good about working for a company that helps people
    Company encourages work-life balance

    Cons

Very structured merit/review system based on a curve; only so many people can "excel"
It's not what you know, but who you know and J&J is all about relationships - if you don't make good connections or get a sponsor, you won't go far
Significant structure in place to ensure work-life balance however, depending on role and/or manager - how that plays out can vary significantly

    Advice to Management

In an effort to centralize finance function and standardize processes, please do not take the job requirements and simplify them simply to push down to lower level staff. Following processes and procedures often get in the way of actually getting the work done. Don't push a project forward simply to meet deadlines if the proper work isn't done, otherwise there will be disasterous roll outs (like the HR/payroll debacle)

    Pros

Great learning experience, opportunities for growth, and a fantastic place to get started in your career

    Cons

Work tends to get routine after a few months in the Co-op. important to reach out for projects and ad hoc tasks outside your job description

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. You've really built an awesome place for interns and employees to feel at home!

    Pros

This is a customer focused company that conducted business according to the standards stated in the Credo. They were also focused on employee development. My managers were excellent and allowed the staff to grow by making good use of their strengths.

    Cons

Too political - too many men in leadership roles. Too "good old boy". Too many evenings of bringing work home due to the global reach.

    Advice to Management

Make good use of all of your staff. Graduate degrees do not equate to experience. Remember why you initially established the Work Life Balance programs.
