Pros
People focus/SCJ values - from heritage
Good talented people
Nice atmosphere to work in and nice to be private company
Cons
Restructurings and too much short term thinking
Equity awards should go further down the organization
There should be ability move into other SCJ companies
Advice to Senior Management
stay the course - do not engage in on going resturcuturgin activity that just demoralizes people - look at the consumer business for guidance
Pros
Rank and File employees are for the most part hard working, dedicated and willing to go the "extra mile" to achieve success if an objective is worthwhile.
Cons
Recent Management/Ownership abandoned the company (with lucrative severance packages) as part of a sale to Sealed Air. The remaining company is plagued by a leadership void and the workforce is rapidly becoming disengaged/discouraged.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to set a positive and clear new direction for the company complete with an effective org structure as soon as possible.
Pros
1 - You get to work with the best in the hospitality industry.
2 - Increase your networking/ contacts and knowledge about the industry and get a better insight into operations of various top companies in the hospitality sector.
3 - Good Salary, benefits and working conditions.
4 - Training opportunities
Cons
1 - Long distances to travel.
2 - Weekend work.
3 - Sharing same work stations when in the office with other colleagues.
4 - On Call 24x7
Advice to Senior Management
1 - Managing Director at Diversey UAE has to develop people and customer service skills.
Otherwise there is nothing much to say as the guys are great and doing a great job and are the market leaders in the middle-east.
Pros
Has a purpose which is clearly communicated and a company that tries to look after people (although does not always succeed). Very international and even global.
Cons
Still struggling to become truly global - concept is poorly understood in global HQ by many people with global roles. Level of change can be excessive.
Advice to Senior Management
Describe a clear vision that explains exactly what being a global business means - people still do not understand this fully.
Pros
small size company, allows you to learn from different areas of the business. Good work/life balance, a good place to begin one's professional career.
Cons
Compensation not as good as expected, growth opportunities are limited due to the size of the business, at least in Latin American countries.
Pros
Green focused company with a great team of people to work with
Cons
Pay is less than could get elsewhere.
Pros
It used to be an industry leader. The company has changed, not so any more. Benefits are good.
Cons
Prone to "Flavor of the month" restructuring. Lots of dis-satisified employees. No longer the industry leader in the industry.
Advice to Senior Management
Go back the basics that made the company great. Don't over complicate a very simple industry. Define a clear distribution policy.
Pros
Industry leadership, history of innovation, many capable people.
Cons
Organization is in flux. Poor key decisions by Sr. leadership over a period of time.
Advice to Senior Management
Understand the real value of individuals to the organization before making HR judgments. Provide continued focus on innovations...give individuals in the organization the freedom to create and drive business.
Pros
freedom of running own territory. Fully expensed vehicle. room for promotion, for right people. semi decent training. bonus plan not bad
Cons
more and more expected all time, with senior management not listening to pressures on the street. reports are hard to come by
Advice to Senior Management
as your slogan states - you are nothing without your people. Listen to those people about what is not working or you will loose all the key employees
Pros
Good benefits.
Multinational company
Abroad experiences
Good enviroment
Cons
Very complicated business
Ver Huge company, so the ooportunities to growth are limited
Difficult proffesional growth
Too many people changesStructure changes continously
Advice to Senior Management
No mentors at all.
I will say that the bord must to define a solid strategy for the long term instead changing every year.
