    Two cultures in one company.

    Chemical Process Operator (Former Employee)
    Racine, WI

ProsPolymer was the best reason to work at JohnsonDiversey. The Polymer division was largely self directed. There was a can do attitude. Everyone did more than they had to. The division prospered.

ConsThe rest of the company was very controlled.

Good company direction, but lack of innovation.

    Account Manager (Former Employee)

ProsCo-workers and internal support was great. The brand name recognition helped sell many customers and contracts drove new business. Working through distribution can be challenging.

ConsThere was a-lot of red-tape to get things accomplished. When your products are sold on value it can be difficult to get distribution to lead with your line.

Advice to Senior ManagementSimplify the process to get special deals done & work on coming out with new innovative products.

    A lesson learned

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsWhen I first started there the company was very much people orientated and those in leadership positions valued input from others and actually utilized the information.

ConsWith the new leadership that is in place, a once proud organization is now being reduced to rubble. They have taken those with a voice and willingness to provide constructive criticism and have moved them out of the organization, so what is left is a bunch of "push down" managers of people resulting in zero desire and motivation from the field sales team. It has become the laughing stock of the distribution world.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy advice to management would be to leave and let someone else start over in your place. You still have a few good people in the organization, but unfortunately, very few in a leadership role. I saw very few true leaders within the VP level of the organization as all were more willing to throw a direct report to the wolves to save their own skin.

ProsDecent pay and benefits especially for the area. Got along great with my co-workers. Opportunity to move internally is good.

ConsVery chaotic environment with multiple reorganizations. Leadership when I was there was lacking strategic vision. Very political! In fact the most political place I have ever worked.

No structure for success - Managers rely on KPI's rather than know and support their team

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Racine, WI

ProsGlobal company that effects so many cultures

ConsEven now as part of Sealed Air, there is no direction. Poor leaders. Too much focus on the competition and not enough on employees driving the company or how to establish the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in proper management training as Mangers so they can support and improve their team. Only then will your company grow.
