Great learning experience but glad I left

    Marketing (Former Employee)
    Sturtevant, WI

ProsGreat experience for learning how a large, multi-billion company functions (or doesn't). In my role, I had exposure to several different departments. Pay is higher than average for the region. Very good benefits. Nice on-site perks (at Sturtevant location).

ConsEndless restructuring. Shifting priorities. Musical chairs with Marketing leadership. Old boys club mentality (seriously, learn golf so you can join them).

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the employees who live and breathe it everyday. Try to stick with a leader for more than 18 months (Marketing).

    Chaotic

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Sturtevant, WI

ProsDecent pay and benefits especially for the area. Got along great with my co-workers. Opportunity to move internally is good.

ConsVery chaotic environment with multiple reorganizations. Leadership when I was there was lacking strategic vision. Very political! In fact the most political place I have ever worked.

    RUN AWAY

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Sturtevant, WI

ProsPay, kinda. If you get a bonus, which is always questionable each year, its a mystical formula that only those within the deep inner circle have knowledge of.

ConsToo many to list...but here's a start. You have a VP of a major sector that's a kid who probably doesn't shave yet, a VP of a growth sector that would have been fired long ago had she lost the millions of dollars she did in any other company, endless re-organization, unbelievable cronyism and a politically caustic environment that would rival the US congress these days.

Advice to Senior ManagementTo start, find some people who can actually spell leadership. That would be a vast improvement on what's been there for the last 10 years.

    Mismanaged and myopic

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Sturtevant, WI

Pros1. Access to the Diversey/Sealed Air YMCA. 2. With all the re-orgs this place goes through, work/life balance is good because there is never any consistent direction, so everyone sits around and waits for what is next.

ConsInept management in Racine. Poor pay. Misleading, unclear and inconsistent communication. Refusal to address key employee concerns. Constant management changes. Favoritism/backslapping culture. Bullying and inexperienced/inept leadership (Healthcare/Hospitality and Gov/Ed anyone?). The company is driven by field sales and key accounts, so if you're in sales...enjoy. Otherwise, this is a place where good talent dies, or gets out as quickly as possible.

Advice to Senior ManagementEnd the rampant inbreeding within management. Too many "yes" men placing blame and never engaging in finding solutions. Current leadership group needs to get more focused on solutions and returning us to a leadership position in the industry, rather than focusing on appeasing the chosen few and the title they want next.

    Intriguing, challenging, and beneficial...

    Marketing and Sales (Current Employee)
    Sturtevant, WI

ProsJohnsonDiversey was a great place to work because it was owned by the Johnson Family. The benefits were great and the corporate culture is very welcoming. They have strong core values and believe in work-life balance. It is definitely a top place to work in the Southeastern Wisconsin area.

ConsSince the Johnson family sold the company, the acquisition has provided many challenges to the legacy Diversey business. Many employees have left and much knowledge has been lost. The benefits are not as good and the Sturtevant location is no longer the Global Headquarters.

If you can't get hired elsewhere, you're welcome here

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Sturtevant, WI

ProsNice looking building and fountain in the atrium.

ConsThis place is choked with the incompetent, and bright talent that comes here by mistake quickly finds a way to get out fast. If you are mediocre then you fit in, but original thinking, professionalism and ethics are non-existent.
