Pros
The time off is excellent.
Cons
Training in nonexistent. Things are always changing. It is not a consistent company
Advice to Senior Management
Provide training classes outside of the office. Don't just hand a manual out and expect staff to comprehend.
Pros
JLL has unlimited resources and ways to learn. Being based in the headquarters, you have access to all of the different groups within the company. The office itself it great. Compensation and benefits were great and vacation time was basically unlimited as long as responsiblities were fulfilled.
Cons
Ability to transfer groups was harder than they made it sound. Training for new employees is lacking. Being based in the HQ, you are held to higher standards then employees in other locations.
Advice to Senior Management
Create better on boarding and training.
Pros
Great benefits package. All the perks you would expect from working for a massive corporate entity, but you pay for it in blood.
Cons
This company is so delineated that you never feel part of the process. The company doesn't not value its employees, but rather uses them as conduits of a machine. There is no personal achievement recognition, and the employee generally is not valued as a person. Management in my division shouldn't be allowed to run a flea circus, and made it to where she is by kissing the right backsides, and using and exploiting the hard work of her employees as her own achievements all the while while not giving credit where it is due.
Advice to Senior Management
Start paying attention to the backbone of the company. The grinders and employers (I'm in management). The opinions of the executives are actually all lies and are made to mask the true issues of the company. Value all employee opinions, not just the ones who report upward.
Pros
Amazingly, when people are in the same sinking boat they all work together as a team to stay above water. The comradery amongst employees suffering the same treatment support each other.
Cons
Poor management. They also offer benefits that they have no intention on providing such as tuition reimbursement.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep your word.
Pros
Great benefits package
Opportunities to collaborate and exchange best practices
Very talented support staff
Great environment for multi-taskers
Cons
Slow to resolve internal issues
Desire to innovate outpaces cohesive rollout plans
Overly bureaucratic
Slow professional & financial advancement
Corporate culture not reflected on corporate solutions accounts
Advice to Senior Management
Leadership is very talented but spread too thin. Corporate business services should take more hands-on role to support lean teams.
National accounts live a very different life than that purported on the external careers site. More effort should be placed on closing this gap.
HR processes and representatives should be evaluated and improved. As an internal employee I had heard positive things about redeployment and advancement. Several applications went without response. If that is the approach with internal candidates imagine how new applicants must view the firm.
Pros
Great Colleagues - really enjoy my coworkers
Cons
Weak Management - managers do not provide adequate leadership
Pros
Witnessing a contract-based, project management work style
Cons
More often employee opportunities for advancement (promotion, education, etc) is sacrificed in order to meet the bottom line
Pros
Great people, nice work environment, good reputation, very ethical company. Hire only the best
Cons
Too much red tape, lack of proper communication, antiquated technology.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your team members, be fair and remember that JLL is not the end all be all-there are other options out there!
Pros
No one is a jerk. Work from hom is available. Opportunities to advance if willing to move or work hard.
Cons
if you are a non-officer you are treated as seasonal help. Sometimes the virtual employees are not treated the same as the ones who come in the office regularly
Advice to Senior Management
promote more based on merrit and less on politicts. Raises need to be more than 2 % a year for sure.
Pros
Amazing co-workers, decent benefits, good 401(K)
Cons
Lack of leadership, disconnect from parent company
Advice to Senior Management
Pay attention to the work being completed by non-management workers, give constructive criticism instead of taking a passive path.
