I have been working at Jones Lang LaSalle

    Pros

Lots of opportunities and a willingness to grow the employees with in the company.

Boots on the ground are compensated at a lower level. To move up within the organization the employee must be willing to transfer accounts every couple of years.

I have been working at Jones Lang LaSalle full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great sense of team work, big company, lots of opportunity, great benefits and flexibility.

    Cons

The pay is not the best in the industry. You are constantly asked to do more with less. There is not a lot of life/work balance. To get a head in the company you have to spend more time at work or on the road.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More promotions and recognition to your employees goes a long ways.

    Pros

Entrepreneurial spirit within a large corporation. Opportunities to implement your ideas or move into new career directions. Focus on utilizing data for continuous improvement. Six Sigma training & utilization. Life/work balance can be achieved if you are transparent with your desire to do so.

    Cons

As with most all organizations of JLL's size, success/failure and satisfaction are highly dependent upon the individuals you work with/for and/or clients you're serving. Colleagues on one account may have a completely different experience from those at another account. Corporate-level positions may be some what insulated from these variations. Benefits are okay, not great.

    Pros

    Smart people; Typical corporate environment

    Cons

Lack of integrity; office relationships that are inappropriate; promotions based on who you know, not what you know; no training; no educational reimbursement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Former Employee - Vice President in Washington, DC

I worked at Jones Lang LaSalle full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

JLL has the best brokers in the business. CBRE is a great company, not to disparage them, but the legacy Staubach guys at JLL have the best relationships and are without a doubt the gold standard in the business. JLL is like Target, CBRE is like Walmart.

    Cons

There is too much red tape. Operating as a broker within the boundaries at JLL requires an enormous amount of reporting to management that no one ever looks at. It doesn't have any value and it take away from time you could be spending with clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire some, either you are a manager or a broker, when you're playing manager if it's not impacting your own book of business, you make a lot of promises you never fulfill.
