  1. Decent company, terrible employee experience due to my particular office

    Pros

*Decent (not great) benefits package *They really want to develop from within, so there are good opportunities for advancement *Lots of recognition, positive feedback, and respectably delivered constructive criticism from higher-ups

    Cons

*Odd management structure; sometimes didn't know who to talk to first if things had to be escalated outside our office. *Enormous company means you sometimes feel like just a number *My particular office was horrendously mismanaged, although that's not JLL's fault as much as it is the the fault of person who hired the senior-most person in the office. I hated the job because of this situation, despite JLL being, overall, a decent company to work for.

    Advice to Management

Try to connect more with staff at the lower levels of the company. Feeling valued by management will give you happier, more productive employees and make you look good.

I worked at Jones Lang LaSalle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary was good. Tools and resources good as well.

    Cons

Account-based employees can get lost in the JLL world. It's difficult to transition to other departments because you aren't as well known on the corporate side. The company seems fearful of terminating people - even when there is clear evidence of the need to do so.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to those in the field. A lot of people leave because they end up aligning to the account client more than their own company.

I have been working at Jones Lang LaSalle full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

good pay, good benefits, nice vacation package

    Cons

Managers do not welcome input from employees or do not listen to input from employees of the buildings that they take over. Employees that come with the building are put down, belittled, and made scapegoats when the management make mistakes. When they redo systems they do not bring the right employees into the meetings with contractors (meaning those employees who actually use the systems and know what the systems do and how the systems have to work). Management does not like to admit when they do wrong, they like to blame those under them for their mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to employees when you take over a building. Be prepared to work outside the box and realize that all buildings are not run the same way. One way of running a building may not work at another building. Be more flexible and actually listen, ask questions and do research before redoing a system.
