    Pros

Flexible work environment, work/life balance, decent benefits, and market compensation

    Cons

Good ol' boys club with an apparent "time-served" promotion strategy, Review process is convoluted and not transparent at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication on goal setting, more aggressive development needed.

    Pros

Opportunities to work with clients in numerous business environments. The back bone provides a lot of Best Practices and room to be independent

    Cons

It's hard to be noticed in this company. Those of us who work on accounts know much more about the client than our own business groups. You have to work hard to maintain a JLL identity

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't expect CRMs to take the lead on making teams feel a part of JLL. Engage people in the field a lot more if you want to retain the top teams.

    Professional company with solid benefits.

    Former Employee - Chief Engineer
    Former Employee - Chief Engineer

    Pros

Professional company with up to date energy campaigns and compliance programs. Competitive salary and benefits.

    Cons

Non secure employment like most commercial realty companies they rely on bidding the contract every 3 years or so which may mean switching hands or lowering wages. Tend to make the Chief Engineer the scapegoat for compliance problems that are completely controlled by senior level national contract holders. If it's not in the budget they cannot be compliant. This is not unique to this company, and applies to all companies in the market today. The trouble of being compliant, sharing that you are out of compliance, and yet getting something taken care of about it lies within the hands of upper management .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you ask a Chief Engineer to be compliant don't turn around and look to blame him after he tells you what needs to be done. Senior (Regional and National) Management tend to blame lower management like the chief engineers, and facility managers for there lack of ability to get the client to pay for safety issues and take care of things correctly. Again it's a competitive market and the budget is always a concern as with any commercial realty company. I would say that JLL are one of the better commercial realty companies out there. Behind the Molasky Group, Grubb Knight Frank, but above CBRE,, Corporex and others.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Westmont, IL

    Pros

It's hard to get fired - especially if you're related to or personal friends of management (a lot are). There are a ton of employees and management who have no idea what they are doing and still keep their jobs. Good place to get your foot in the door if you're an accountant but you'll never make much.

    Cons

Heavy favoritism. Low pay. No respect. Poor treatment. VERY poor management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company needs to embark on a serious internal marketing campaign and offer a competitive wage so they can get and hang onto better people. It would also be an excellent idea to get all the managers and supervisors enrolled in effective leadership courses. Also, a bigger office is needed. The one currently used was outgrown 10 months ago. People are currently squeezing into conference rooms and are parking near a restaurant 1/4 mile away with no shuttle service. This place needs HELP!
