Pros – Multiple opportunities for job progression.
Cons – Locations are somewhat rural or off the beaten path. When you transitions to a new position you tend to keep/bring along your previous responsibilities as well.
Advice to Senior Management – Better progression planning and implementation of a transition process needs to be implemented.

Former Employee – worked at Joy Mining full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Salary and benefits were average.
Cons – They grow by acquisition and if you are unfortunate enough to be bought out your life expectancy with the company is short. If you are not one of the Milwaukee elite you are already on the block.

Pros – You have plenty of work. The shop is very clean the people I work with are real good. Many of us have beome friends outside the shop.
Cons – The workers who have been doing the sme jods for 25 to 30 plus years the upper management talk to us like we don't know anything. The vshop supervisers are off the floor and they know what is happening but the higher upps act like they don't know whats going on. It would be nice to be able to comverse with some of the visitors from corprate as they come to tour the facility.
Advice to Senior Management – Take suggestions we aren't stupid. We may not be collage educated but we know the job and how to get the parts out the door GOOD. We re proud of the parts we make. And they need to do a better job at keeping the work flowing through the shop.

Former Employee – worked at Joy Mining part-time for less than a year
Pros – It is a good place to learn....You get to learn all the necessary stuff regarding mines ...The companies motto is "All men ,all work " So , even you are from any field of engineering , at the end of the year you would be knowing all the things whether it is regarding machines used or regarding mining prospects ....The services provided in the guest house (hostel) are very good and your expenses would be very less...less expenses means more savings ...It is a very good place for diploma holders ...diploma holders gets good pay in joy mining than any other company in india ...
Cons – The designation offered to a fresher is not good ...both diploma holder and b.tech holder gets the designation of formen ....so , if u are from B.tech or B.E , u wont have any extra edge over the diploma holder ...unlike other companies where u are always treated above diploma holder ...Thus , if you want to switch to some other companies from joy mining ,then your past designation would be of a formen ...so ,this would act against u and may be u won't be getting a good designation in the new company...
Advice to Senior Management – Try to give a better designation to B.Tech holder ...The number of employees in your companies are less...so ,the extra burden goes on the existing employees ....thus ,increase the numbers of employees and the company should go for campus recruitment to various institutes ...

Pros – You get to work with some very smart people on cutting edge technology. Very fast paced and interesting work environment.
Cons – A lot of time spent on the road away from home, this is very hard if you have young kids.
Advice to Senior Management – Overall I think the management team is doing a good job, however I think it would be beneficial to see more of them in the field in person vs online or in video conferences. Come out and see what a killer job the little people are doing for you and show them a little love !!

Current Employee – been working at Joy Mining
Pros – Flexible schedule, opportunity to establish professional relationships that may lead to career advancement, opportunity to travel, no micro-management of job duties.
Cons – Can be overwhelming if you're not self motivated, sporatic nature of on call work schedule, in some situations supervision has no leverage in backing you on customer disagreements, salary scale lower than it should be for level of pressure
Advice to Senior Management – Do more in the area of scheduling coverageto allow more off call time, increase hay points for some classifications, keep vehicle policy as promised when originally hired.
