    Pros

Gained a lot of experience working with and educating children.
Contributed to the community in a positive way.
Had a lot of fun working with children.

    Cons

There are no cons that I can really think of, but as a university student doing this as a part-time job, the work hours can sometimes be inconvenient.

    Pros

Teaching and mentoring low-income preschool children through a service and social justice based organization. This organization educates the Corps on education inequality but also citizenship and how to advocate for the communities we work with.

    Cons

Because you are working with low-income children, there are often language barriers between Corps Members and students as well as their parents. JS can find more ways to support Corps Members in these instances.

    Advice to Management

Become more involved with the different college sites

    Pros

The interview process was very quick. I submitted my application, was called for an interview, then had a Skype interview, and was hired. The entire process took around 2 weeks. Jumpstart's mission is so important, and being able to be a part of closing the achievement gap is really rewarding. You can advance quickly here, and Jumpstart will open many doors down the line.

    Cons

The main problem I have is with the pay. The salary caps at $3,000, even if you're a work study student and your amount is more than that. If you really need a job for financial reasons, Jumpstart may not be for you.
