Pros
Learning and keep you in loop with other project in the company.
Cons
Not enough training to learn new technology such as mobile app development
Advice to Senior Management
I do not have any issues with leadership
Pros
There is a lot of potential for the company to grow. Seems to be aligning well to become the $10 Billion company.
Cons
Lack of clear career path for individual contributors. No emphasis on nurturing internal talent and promoting them to the next level.
Advice to Senior Management
Establish skip level 1:1 and encourage candid feedback. Reduce and remove management layers and processes that are not adding any value.
Pros
Great Employees to work with
Flexible environment in terms of work time
Technically sound environment with most employees and managers
Cons
Does not provide good performance management
Inconsistency with how people advance or not
Top heavy with Management while less engineers to get real work done
Career prospects are limited due to industry focus
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on Employee choices and development priorities
Ensure that Managers have performance review sessions and set clear objectives
Practice what they preach to the industry
Pros
a bit of high end of the industry to make the experience there seems to have a bit of glaring.
Cons
small company with complex org chart, with ever increasing management layers
Pros
Good compensation (salary, bonus, stock and benefits).
Good people to work with, most willing to share their knowledge.
Good work environment and reasonable project schedules.
Good technology, equipment and resources available.
Cons
No opportunity for promotion or advancement, negotiate the highest possible job grade when hired.
Processes are out of date, behind the rest of the industry in how projects are organized and managed.
Risk adverse, no concept of stretch goals.
Weak middle management, too concerned with perception, focuses too much on technical aspects, people management virtually non-existence, too many 1-1, trust is an issue.
Advice to Senior Management
Big company aspirations, execution falling short.
Senior management virtually invisible, only time you hear from them is during quarterly result meetings.
Rewards process limited to the very few, lower the award value and show appreciate to those who do the little things that count just as much.
Pros
Compensation and benefits are strong
High growth industry
Flexible working conditions
Nice campus and facilities
Opportunities to make an impact
Founder and CTO still actively involved with the company
Cons
Quite political, more focused on approval then executing with excellence.
Routinely under resourced, but continues to add more VPs and layers of managment that further insulates senior leaders.
Advice to Senior Management
Get focused on executing with excellence, quality and customer focus. Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to develop and deliver high quality products. Build management capability, especially middle managers.
Pros
Best work environment. Fast paced and at times short on resources than needed. Overall it keeps extraneous things from creeping into work environment.
Cons
Always short people for work. Can get vexing at times. Can do definitely with fewer projects focused on key ones.
Advice to Senior Management
Consolidate on different projects
Pros
Good people, the location is great, the technology is interesting, the pay is good above average. the facilities are great.
Cons
the process is getting in the way of progress, upper management is mostly engaged in managing up instead of managing their groups
Advice to Senior Management
Stop with the 'home grown' tools, they are clumsy and cost a great deal to maintain. Change the process to enhance products not get in the way. Reward managers who actually manage their groups and product positive results.
Pros
Great technologies and an applaudable ambition to go to the next level as a company. Invests heavily in VPs/EVPs
Cons
Cannot get out of its own way. To be effective you must constantly drive consensus at HQ in Sunnyvale, CA.
Advice to Senior Management
Fix broken processes, hold HR accountable for being unresponsive to lower employees to point of unprofessionalism...they manage upward.
Pros
loads of opportunity to learn and work in the latest technology. A team with friendly and supportive team mates.lots of great minds around. in short a great company to work for
Cons
though it is a great place to work where u can learn a lot, the recognition is not that great.
Advice to Senior Management
nothing much. be focused and just achieve the target
