I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

    Talented people to work with.

    Cons

Lots of lay-offs of very good engineers and pay cuts to current ones so they satisfy shareholders. Managers promote themselves rather quickly but good performing engineers are mostly overlooked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dedicated and bright engineers is what keeps the company selling products and providing services. Many managers seem to care only about their own good.

Success in Juniper relies heavily on your proximity to the head office in Sunnyvale, and how well liked your manager is.

I have been working at Juniper Networks

    Pros

    The pay and benefits package
    Name recognition
    Co-workers

    Cons

    Zero job security
    Limited upward mobility
It is an extremely political atmosphere, if your manager is not part of the "club", your career will not advance.
Nepotism is rampant with the best performers often being overlooked
    Heavy staff turnover
IT services here are abyssmal, as are the tools which are provided for you to perform your functions

I have been working at Juniper Networks

    Pros

cool work culture with average benefits and salaries. Good opportunity to grow within company.

Nothing much to learn in technical stream .

  9.

Unless you work in Sunnyvale and are your managers pet it is difficult to survive.

    I worked at Juniper Networks

    Pros

Good pay. Some great people to work with.

    Cons

Revolving door for sales making it difficult to have a stable account team. The new sales regime is a click cleaning out anyone they done like, even people in services. Clearly no job security. TLC isn't staffed appropriately for each product.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a handle on what's going on in your organization.

I worked at Juniper Networks full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits and good income potential with the right territory.

    Cons

Grossly incompetent mid level managers. The company chooses to retain some of the worse managers for fear of being sued rather than deal with the actual problem. This causes a very high attrition rate of the really talented people that work there. When it gets to the point of complete ridiculousness, they are transferred to new positions to destroy morale in another department. Without a doubt, the worst management I have ever experienced in my entire career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean up your management structure and get rid of the dead wood. Stop allowing mid level managers to over inflate their titles just to boost their ego's. Not every manager is a VP. Although they pretend to be!
