I have been working at Jupiter Aluminum full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The pay here is decent. There is lots of overtime available. There are a few different schedules worked here. You may work 7 days straight of 12 hour shifts but then you get 3 or 4 days off after, which us great. The schedule is stable, you know your schedule months in advance. They offer health ins, paid vacation, sick day.

    Cons

Some of the employees have a negative attitude. Constantly crying/whining about things. Don't like it quit or shut up in my opinion. Some guys are back stabbers. Some management personnel has no idea what they are talking about. Layoffs around the holidays for people who don't have that much seniority.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to some of your more experienced workers advice instead of just blowing them off. Promote from within, don't hire out for management.

    Pros

They allow a lot of over time.

    Cons

There is not a lot of room for advancement. Once you reach the level of operator there is nothing higher you can hope to advance to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of promoting a person in appreciation for years of service and commitment to the company, give them a raise.Reserve their leadership positions for people with some kind of educational background in managing.
